"House of Hunan was very nicely furnished outside for the holiday season, it was clean and very welcoming. The building was very handicap accessible with a very nice ramp makes wheelchair friendly, but there was not much for disabled parking. The interior was clean and easy to navigate. But the person we first met was a woman who led us where we were sitting, but she seemed distracted and simply held flags her hand on the back of the restaurant, so we went where she then showed them a little rudely we sat at a larger table than we needed. This seemed to be the norm because the people who worked there were not the kindest, but they were okay. Some of the dishes on the buffet were not the warmest or freshest, but then there were other things that were hot and fresh and constantly refilled. They had a very nice selection of foods and choices. You had a very unique taco from which my daughter was crazy. My family wants to go back at a time when there is no vacation time to see if the food is fresher and the service is better."

"I saw what some of the reviewers were saying about the lady attitude smh, just her tone she comes off as if she don’t want to be bothered with taking orders. Kept saying “ok,ok,ok” with attitude. My hubby wanted to try a new spot so I tried it too.the side of broccoli was good the orange chicken was ok. The orange chicken is better from happy wok in Swarthmore. There was a baby chicken wing in the batch but they put an extra one in there and they was just meh,I didn’t bother to take another from my hubby like I usually would. I should of went with my gut and just ordered from my usual spot which is happy wok in Swarthmore or wing hing. The food was just ok 3*s overall. Would I go back no!"

"Wow! Delicious Green Curry, and the coconut soup is wonderful! I also had the Golden Gate sushi, which was some of the best I've had. We had Sunday Lunch, and it was about $20 a plate, and the sushi was about $8."

"The restaurant takes great care in preparing your food, and everything is very clean. Typically, when I order General Tso's chicken from other places, it tends to be soggy and sticky. However, here it’s crispy and made with fresh chicken. You can also see that the kitchen is clean. The customer service is excellent as well. Whenever I'm looking for a place with great flavor, this is where I go."

"American Airlines strikes again: this time, they overbooked all outbound flights to LAX and I was stranded in the area near JFK."

"I must express my disappointment with the Chinese food I recently tried. It's evident that they've changed the ingredients, and not for the better. The flavors were bland, lacking the authentic spices that make Chinese cuisine so delicious. I suspect they've opted for cheaper substitutes or low-quality meat, compromising the dish's overall quality. Additionally, there seemed to be an overuse of artificial additives or preservatives, giving the food an unnatural taste. As someone who appreciates authentic Chinese flavors, I was left unsatisfied and would recommend seeking out establishments that prioritize quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods."

"I went during lunch, placed an order at 12:03 for a full order of General Tso chicken and replaced the white rice with pork fried rice. Total this order cost me about $22.Service:They were accommodating on the phone and asked me multiple times if I wanted the lunch platter or the full order to ensure I got what I wanted. They offered me sauces on checkout and had my order ready about 2 minutes before their quoted time of 10 mins.I'd say that constitutes 5 stars for a Chinese joint in the service department.Food:The general tso chicken was fresh and delicious. Absolutely drowning in sauce and there were about 5 Florettes of very fresh broccoli. Good stuff! The rice however was bad, one sniff sent me reeling. Not great. Which was a shock when I compared it to the general tso masterpiece I had before.I took a bite despite my reservations and found it to be overcooked, mushy and stale. I would say they probably made it some time earlier in the week and reheated it for me. I tossed it as soon as I got home.Overall I still consider my order a success and when I consider the rice only cost me 5 bucks, I'd say they did a good job.I'll be back! But I'm probably headed elsewhere for my rice fix next time lol."

"My go to place for Chinese food that I remember from many years ago. Some restaurants seem to have forgotten the flavoring that attracted American families. Fast service, pleasant waitresses and the best mai tais. I recommend the double....soups are great but my favorite is wonton. Wontons are never overcooked or rubbery like some places that leave them in a warming pot. Big fan of the duck and they offer it in a few different ways. Tried a lot of dishes, and never had one that I didn't like although I usually get the Chicago pork chow main. Egg foo young is another of my favorites. Portion sizes are big: always enough for later when hunger hits. They do a brisk takeout business, especially weekends. Definitely worth the trip from Smithfield. And now I'm talking myself into a visit!"
