"Warfield has really hit its stride now. And it is now open for lunches the second half of the week. The constantly evolving menu has many more options than it used to, including a great bar burger, of course, but also steaks, crab rolls with authentic, grilled Northeastern buns, great salads and an unusual chili that is not soupy or stew-like, but dryer and more interesting, with several types of beans and diced vegetables. Once it was made with beef cheeks, another time, beef short rib meat. Chef Sean seems to prefer to source unusual, tasty local products and prepare them in more interesting ways than others on the street. We enjoy his inventiveness, especially in serving tavern favorites with a new twist. The wines are all carefully chosen and delicious, but Many with edgy, unfamiliar names that bring a smile and encourage exploration. On the few occasions I have sampled the offerings from Warfield’s Distillery I’ve been very impressed. David, the attentive and knowledgeable bartender is friendly and helpful like the rest of the staff. They all seem to enjoy working there and take pride in it. This is a very sophisticated pub-restaurant with a great personality."
