"We are in town for New Years and a Chiefs game. Bristol’s was recommended by our Airbnb host and it did not disappoint. We made reservations for 6 top and arrived 15 minutes early and we were seated promptly. Adam was our waiter and was amazing. He is the reason for a solid 5 stars. He made great recommendations for us, kept our drinks filled at all times and cleared our table quickly after we finished with a serving. We started with cauliflower, calamari and oysters for appetizers. All three were very good, but the cauliflower stole the show. It was so good. Secondly, 3 of us had Cesar salads and they were great. The dressing is made fresh daily and it makes all the difference. My husband ordered the bisque and he was nice enough to swap with me halfway through because I loved the bisque when I tried his. For entrees we had a variety of things off the menu. One member of our party had the Tuna and said it was exceptionally good. Another had the filet and crab cake and loved both. He commented on the crab cake being the best he has ever had. Another member had the KC strip and said the flavor was great, but the steak was on the tough side. Another member had the chicken, it was a large serving and was very flavorful and good. The potatoes were a standout on this dish. I had the sea bass and it was okay. I’ve had better, but it was still pretty good. I didn’t finish all of it. It was. Bite rubbery and I probably wouldn’t order it again if I went back. Our last member decided on the lobster Mac and cheese. It was good, but not a stand out. Lastly we had cream brûlée for dessert. We are a bit of hard judges when it comes to crème brûlée and we would give this a 7/10. It needed a bit more toasting on the top. Over all we had a great evening with great friends along with exceptional serves from Adam. We will definitely come back if ever in KC."

"very disappointed in the service! visited the Sunday brunch today with high hopes. once sitting it took a long time before the server recognized us and took our drink order. we ordered 2 coffees and a ginger-ale and went to get our food....We sat on a table right under the sun. it was so hot and unpleasant with the sun that was shot in our eyes; we couldn't even turn around. I sweated so much and really didn't enjoy myself. I asked the server if we could sit somewhere else; she answered no and mentioned that customers were at a nearby table also in the sun and went through the same. How does this help my situation? Given the ugly price of almost $60 per person, I think that accommodations could have been made. we came back with our food and our drinks weren't there yet. a lot of time passed. Finally, I moved to the server regarding our drinks and she said, let me double check that she returned and said they were brought to the wrong table. if she had checked us at least once during our meal, she would have known. She didn't even check if we wanted to fill in until I asked for one. overall we felt that we were ignored. I have received much better service in restaurants a third of the price. won 't recommend ricarda 's."

"It has been some time since we were at Jax and we were happy to give it a chance before the play at Starlight on July 28. Our server, Kayla I thnk was very pleasant and positive. Becuse it was so hot outside we both ordered an appetizer and a gumbo. The food was excellent as always. The play ended up being cancelled due to the heat so we had the dessert of the day special. A blueberry like cobbler. All in all it was a great return visit."

"I would call the food inspector on this place ASAP. As we were finishing our meal, a rat ran towards us under our table. My husband and I jumped from our seats in terror with our feet off the floor on to the booths. When the waiter heard me scream he asked if everything was ok... when I told him that a rat had ran underneath our table he had no emotion, no concern and had no sense of urgency to bring the manager over- he basically shrugged it off. We were unable to put our feet down because the creature was hiding beneath our table. As we were flagging for help and for someone to bring the check, we had to painfully wait another 10 minutes for the manager to finally come to “apologize” she said that the back kitchen door must’ve been left open and that’s how the rat got in. They were slow to present our bill, which we quickly paid and ran out. I will never ever go back to this establishment again."

"No matter when you visit this restaurant, it feels like you're on a tropical vacation. The music is great, the menu is fresh, and the drinks are always on point. They even won an award a few years ago for their mango mojitos, which are dangerously delicious. My personal favorite is the grouper with basil pesto sauce, but many of my friends rave about the Lobster gratin served in the shell. Don't miss out on the crab dip appetizer, and you have to try their dessert, HOT MONKEY LOVE (vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, and a banana). Overall, this place is a gem."

"thank we ordered their thanksgiving predetermined meal. the salate and the suppe were very good. the chief and desert were very disappointing. it was huge in volume of truthahn was a kind of frying or pale, kartoffeln were immediately kartoffeln and runny. sweet that we did not cook enough, and the grinding were left on the squash mosquitoes. there were about 1 teaspoon cranberries. that was good. dessert was generic and substandard in taste. the price was exorbitant for the quality and quantity we were calculated. it was our first and last time we will apply Parker’s."

"eating was good. Not extraordinary. Just good. the brot was disappointing. they expect warm sourdough in a “coastal” fishing house. they served something like sweet Hawaiian rolls with a very tasty mix of butter and crumble. but not mad. service was excellent. mignonette soße tasted like it had a spoon of sugar in it. terrible. the server got the kitchen to make a sugarless mignonette sauce. good kerl, we probably wouldn't go back here."

"This place is pretty good most of the time. Better than average beer list and burgers are good. But nothing is phenomenal. They do have an outdoor patio which is never packed but great for hot summer days because it sits in the shade a good amount of the day. Another reason to keep this at three stars instead of two is because of the waitresses. They are always awesome and so friendly. The bartenders are a mixed bag."

"My boyfriend and I went to dinner at The Tulip the other night. We've been many times and it is always a wonderful experience. Not pictured, we always start with the Sausage Crostini and keep the side of marinara it comes with to dip your bread in it! I had a salad and the mussels which were in a garlic white wine sauce that I would've drank from the bowl if we weren't in public. My boyfriend had the bone-in pork chop with a Bourbon glaze over smoked gouda grits and green beans. Everything was cooked perfectly and our server was professional and experienced in fine dining. We love it here because the food is as good as any fine dining restaurant but the atmosphere is more like a neighborhood Bistro. Definitely recommend!"

Guests of all ages have been raving about how insane the cocktail hour was, how amazing the service was and how beautiful the location is. The attention to detail from the entire Battello team is something you will not find anywhere else. There was not an ounce of stress on us knowing that we had Battello’s team handling our wedding day.I will be telling everyone I know to get married at Battello, just so we can celebrate there again.
