"Decent at best. That’s all really. It is very noisy- by design. Look up and you’ll see why. The ceiling is designed to carry the noise from the bar throughout the restaurant. And honestly I don’t care to listen to the bumpin music they’re playing at the bar when we’re at our booth 50+ feet away. It is also very dim. Extremely poor lighting, according to our waitress (who was very nice) this is also by design because other diners have made comment about this too and she said she’s mentioned it and the feedback she gets is “it creates the ambience.” Yeah okay…… “ambience.” The food is decent at best. Caesar salad was pretty good. But what is up with the streak being doused in butter? There was a pool of butter on my plate around my steak. Is the lighting dim in the kitchen too? Can the chefs not see what they’re doing? All in all, New York Prime is not any better than Morton’s or The Capital Grille. In fact, we probably should have gone to one of those two. There’s nothing New York about this restaurant at all. After returning home we decided to check out New York Prime’s website and read their menu story about how “New York Prime is a different kind of steakhouse.” If you ever want a laugh, read that. You’ll tear up, it’s hilarious. Proprietors seem very full of themselves! Anyway, we were very unimpressed, will definitely not be returning."

"We went here due to the 5 star reviews. This place is overpriced and food we had was disgusting. New England Clam Chowder... lots of mushy potatoes; barely any clams; gel-like consistency; weird flavor. Steamers appetizer... small, shriveled, sandyclams; weird oily, garlicky broth??? Just use normal, simple clam broth please! Baked Scrod... person who ordered it said verysalty. Broiled sea scallops... yucky tasting meat; definitely not fresh; drowning in oil. Fried whole belly clams... worstI've ever had. Were these clams freeze-dried or something? j/k. The size of the pieces indicate that they really are wholebelly clams, but the bellies are not plump; more like shriveled. The clams were tasteless. Mixed vegetables side dish... wayovercooked and drowning in the same oily, garlicky concoction they seem to use in most of the dishes. Cole Slaw side dish...okay. Sweet tea... very diluted... two people in group said it's like water plus lots of sugar. None of us finished our meals. I ate about a third of my whole belly clams... first time ever I did not finish off a clams meal, albeit they did give me a lotof clams. Attaching photo of my whole belly clams meal AFTER I stopped eating. Portions are large. Service is decent. Placeis crowded. We would never come back here, nor recommend. For the price they are charging, you'd expect food quality on parwith top tier restaurants."

"Went to Joe's Stone Crab on Thursday, July 14th. We were excited to try this restaurant based on all the wonderful reviews. Sadly, it was the worst service we've had in a long time. For a party of 3 adults, our dinner reservation was for 7:30pm. We did not get seated until 8:00pm. I know, because I looked at my watch. So, after a 30min wait, we get seated. Couldn’t help thinking about the Seinfeld episode about how anyone can take a reservation...it's the holding (or in this case the seating of the reservation. ; Our server (which we had to first try and find , didn't come to our table for 10 minutes. When he finally came, we ordered our drinks, he served them, we asked for a gluten free menu for daughter (which he provided , and then walked away. Then, we sat for another 10 minutes and our server never came back. After another 10 minutes of our server not coming back, we finally decided we were not going to spend $300 $400 for bad service no matter how good the crabs are supposed to be. When we passed the hostess stand, my husband asked to speak to the manager because he was so irritated. The manager came out, and my husband explained to the manager what time our reservation was and said we had poor service, so we were leaving. The manager said he had the ticket and that we were served at 8:10pm. My husband said, do you think being served only drinks after 40 minutes from the reservation is acceptable? The manager replied...I don't know, I don't deal with the seating. :"

"We had high expectations for this place given the reviews. And it looked interesting and whimsical when we entered. But it didn't live up to expectations and we don't plan to return. We had the Miami Spice menu. There were two of us for dinner. They paraded us around the restaurant and we finally stopped at a table for six. It sure wasn't an intimate dinner. Service was fairly prompt but a bit rude. I asked for the Miami Spice menu and the waiter told me to scan the QR code on the printed menu. Of course the Miami Spice menu wasn't online, so he had to bring us paper copies. We ordered cocktails and made our selections for each of the three courses. The cocktails were interesting and good. I liked the pouring at the table for the old fashioned. For first course we had the Thai dumplings and the shrimp bao. The dumplings were good... flavorful, well presented. The bao was really pretty but it lacked flavor and the textures were overwhelming super soft sticks to the top of your mouth on the bread and super crunchy too much breading on the shrimp. It didn't really taste like anything and the crunch vs softness seemed to compete versus compliment. The shrimp on the bao were so hot that they burned our mouths. For the main course one had the tiger prawns and one had the steak. The steak was good, the best protein of the night. The tiger prawns, served in some carcass, were tasteless, undercooked, and they had a strong smell (were they getting old? .For dessert we had some mix of ice cream, pistachios and a slathering of green stuff. It was a confusing dessert and sadly the best part was the pistachios. The place was very noisy, Service timing was odd. Dishes were served one at a time which caused one of us to wait for the other's dish before we ate a course. We had the same dessert and they came out together. The waiter never seemed happy to be doing his part though he appeared and disappeared at the right times. We are glad we tried Novikov and we appreciated the Miami Spice tasting menu as it let us sample several items. None of the food was compelling enough for us to return particularly given all the fabulous restaurants around."
