"I visited Maxine 's from Louisville KY. This was my second time here in the last 3 years. First visit in 2019 excellent. This last time was not good at all. It was in May 2023. Had reservations for 8:45 pm. We got there. It was almost empty. The wanted us to leave or at least get out as quickly as possible. Our server who was sweet but slow, came over and told us they were out of 5 main entrees on the menu. Really?? Then I said oh my goodness that doesn 't leave much. Then she left us, then came back again and said Chef wants to know if you are ordering anything warm soon. ? It was obvious Chef at 9 pm or so, wanted to leave. The Crab Cakes were tasty but so COLD in center, the fried green tomatoes were hard as a rock and the breading was terrible, then they served both apps with a strawberry preserves, rather than any type of remoulade sauce. It was Awful. We also ate the wine board for $25, biggest rip you have ever seen. COLD brie, that was no bigger than the palm of my hand cut in a triangle, grapes, crackers and sugar pecans, which the pecans were the best thing of the night. Then Maxine comes flitting around like she is something grandiose. We felt too embarrassed to tell her , her food and service was so lacking. The Florida residents I was with , were extremely disappointed in this experience."
