"Great food as always, fast service, Johnathan was on point, told him what I was looking for as it had been a year since coming to Torchy's, and tried to remember what I wanted off the secret menu, he called it out immediatley. Love the Matador and Hillbilly style Trailer Park. He was contantly checking in making sure everything was as good as I remembered. This is why I tout Torchy's everywhere I go always come back when in town."

"I usually get the Brush Fire and the Baja Shrimp and whatever the taco of the month is. I recommend you try the taco of the month each month. Obviously by the time you read this whatever was the taco of the month will no longer be. But the last two months November and December they've been fire. Really good. They're generally really good. So check them out. Fair warning, the sauce on the brush fire is really hot. I like spicy food but, it's about the limit of my enjoyment.I like Torchy's for the most part. The only bad experience I've had is with take out. I wouldn't do takeout. The tacos are just a little expensive, and sometimes there's a crowd and a wait for your order. And it's order at the counter, no service. But generally I think it's the best of the taco places. Although I'm always on the lookout for an independent."

"I like this Torchy's (Hulen location) the best out of the ones I have visited. Nice layout and just a cool feel. Also has a nice little bar area that I could easily see myself hanging at and watching some sports. We have been here several times and we have enjoyed our visits. I think their queso is one of the better ones around TBH. Lot's of food choices and most aren't you typical taco, but so far I haven't been disappointed in any of my selections. We had one little glitch on a recent visit. We had a little issue with our server who was just probably having a bad day. Normally, it's easy to brush it off, but after two visits to the table with a less than welcoming demeanor, we asked and spoke with a manager. Nothing can get changed if management doesn't know there is a problem so.... Anyway, the manager listened to our concerns and assured us that they would have a chat with the server and all was good. We weren't looking to get anything free or get anyone in any real trouble, but we let the manager know that our experience was a departure from the norm there. I am certain that our next visit will be back up to our normal expectations. While some may see this as a negative review, it isn't. Any establishment can have an off moment, many times caused by one person having an off day. It's how the problems are handled are what can make a mediocre client experience, into a client for life. I am a happy Torchy's customer and I am sure I will be back soon!In edit: The owner/manger even followed up on this review (see below). This is the kind of customer engagement that keeps people coming back. Kudos to the folks at Torchy's!"

"actually quite well dared, and maybe just a little bit pricy. I ordered a brushfire taco, green chili queso chips and a drink and was more than full. tab was $13.76 not inconvenient in the face of the taco was made with real grilled meat, ananas, grilled jalapenos, etc. the flour tortilla taco dish can also have been. good taste and presentation the queso and chips were excellent. obviously real cheese, guacamole and green chiles. fresh crispy chips. pricy, but so good that at most places would be the usual cola, pepsi or gott prohibit rc. not here. these youngs serve the main root brand so. more real sugar, real smells, and so much better than the pepsi attempt,...read more"

"eating was great, but they need work on cleanliness. When I left, it was very creepy. eat half eat, teller, what not on the tables long after we show up on the left. the mülldose was full of müll from the tip that were flying loved lol I was just for them to clean because I worked in the restaurants before! I know how many eating places, they are probably short workers, but to leave mülltische imrein/unverzicht looks like they weren't."

"It was alright. I got my order to go, so maybe the presentation contributes to your flavor profiles.My batch of shrimp tacos were on the rubbery side. The breakfast tacos didn’t have much flavor. I was given a bunch of sauces, but I couldn’t figure out which paired with which because the flavors didn’t seem to pair well with each other.The award winning queso that I had didn’t taste any better than the queso from Chipotle or Velvet. But it was nice having an appropriate amount of fresh chips to accompany it, even though the oil tasted a little stale.Thanks for responding."

"I'm going to start with the only con, the chips were a little stale, with that said. \nThe overall atmosphere is amazing, very chill, very laid back, even the doors are conveniently placed, the staff is cool, and the food. Wow. I tried the trailer park trashy taco, it's amazing. I highly recommended you get one along whatever else you order. The queso looks different than a lot that I've tried, but it's really good, has a nice texture to it as well. This is a place you need to try for sure."

"This is my hubs favorite place for tacos. His is the brisket taco and mine either Mr Orange (salmon) or fried avocado. Everything is spicy so if you are sensitive, like me, to spicy food have plenty of water on hand. The flavor of the food is so good I can't help but enjoy it! The staff are always kind. You have very little interaction with them. Service is more like a fast food style take order, deliver food, the end. Ambience is simple. No walls filled with historic, new, or eclectic art. Some music. A bar where most of the chatter comes from. The price is fair for what you receive mostly because it is good quality. It is a quick, grab something good, get your taco fix kind of place.Kid-friendliness: Torchy's is a family friendly environment. Not a place to run around and play and our location does not have outdoor seating, but I believe some do.Dietary restrictions: I don't choose to not eat meat. Torches has a vegan meat taco, fried avocado taco, shrimp or salmon taco. So options are available."

"I had the Brisket Taco and the Shrimp taco. The Brisket taco was amazing and it's my favorite so far. The Shrimp taco was not good. The Shrimp was cold and old, like it had been sitting out for hours. I'm gonna give it another chance though. There are so many things to choose from. It was hard to pick just 2. There is an Acholic beverage bar here and drink specials. I absolutely love this place. The staff is friendly and fast. You can sit and have a beer or cocktail while you wait on your food. They use the beeper coasters so you'll know when your order is ready. Cool lunch spot for sure. Enjoy!"

"Great. We came here on vacation in Austin and enjoyed us very much. Great concept. Tacos were delicious and very full. I found it affordable to be a problem that I often run with handcrafted Taco seats. Nice atmosphere. The food was fast. The guacamole was delicious and the queen was divine. I wish we had one of them at home."
