"My family lived on 12th Ave near Geary years ago. I was only 1 or 2, but they did most of their shopping on Clement Street. Apparently, that area was the first Chinatown in San Francisco. Todays adventure brought us back to the area, and according to them much has changed. We decided to have dim sum for lunch. We took the elevator up to the large banquet hall. For now, they do not roll carts around. You order at the table and it is made fresh which is sooo good and better! We had the beef chow fun, shu mai, shrimp har gow, char siu bao, Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce, and egg cuatard tarts. Everything was delicious...though my parents said the flavor was different from their Hawaii spot. Well, things are not going to taste the same as where you go to, every place is different. The service is attentive but a little serious. We were in OG land because everyone spoke Chinese except for us...and the two Jewish ladies...LOL! Definitely worth checking out, though I would not use the elevator...the ride down was a little scary! LOL!"
