"Refried beans taste dry, cold and straight out of a can. We had the fajitas, and the chicken was dry and tasted like cardboard. The salsa saved us and we chose to make tacos with the cardboard chicken, adding the veggies from the fajitas and salsa. "Ameristar is a place in decline.The buffet is gone, and with it, a variety of decent food at a fair price. The micro brewery was closed and the place was basically empty. All that was missing were a few tumble weeds.This Cantina was just a continuation of the disappointment.I ordered steak nachos and received a plate of mostly lettuce some kind of white sauce and meat; having the texture of cardboard with and a hint of beef flavoring.This stomach churning entry set me back $20 dollars, plus a tip.The best thing about this experience other than leaving was the server, Vu. He was enjoyable to speak with.Whoever is making the food decisions for Ameristar needs to be fired."
