"Indian foods are usually a hit or miss venture, with mostly misses in this country. Again and again you find a place that is all that should be Indian food; that's this place. The food is delicately complex, cooked for perfection. Vegetarian options are phenomenal, like the chicken tandoori. The staff is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is good for most occasions. The next time we're in Richmond, we'll definitely stop here."

"I am so disappointed! My experience at India Bistro was so horrible I had to ask for my check early and go home to finish my lunch. I love Indian food and was really looking forward to it. With Bengal Tiger and Taste of India so close by I can’t believe this place stays in business. In short, the waitstaff was fine, the food was mediocre but the atmosphere was intolerable. There was incessant noise from a really loud industrial blender, men yelling at each other to be heard over the noise and constant loud chiming of the electronic doorbell. It was like a comedy skit and I really tried to stick it out but in the end I had to admit defeat. I like unique and challenging experiences and I can generally at least find the humor in a difficult time but I met my match at India Bistro. It could not have been more obnoxious. I am so glad to be out of there."

"Man, this place is amazing. I've fallen in love with Indian food recently and been trying different places around my home in Minneapolis. This one has by far blown all of my nearby options out of the water. I'm sad that this is over an hour from my home. It's amazing. The tiki masala with paneer, the garlic Naan bread and the smoas (smosa? . The decor is really pleasant and the staff were nice also!"

"I don't know how this restaurant has such a high rating. Went for an office lunch and from the time we walked in the door until walking back out there was someone vacuuming every inch of the dining room. I understand if you're trying to close and get things done but this was at lunch time on a week day. "This place is our go to for Indian food take out and dine in. The food is always great quality with generous portions and reasonably priced. Not to mention, we love supporting a local business owner. The last time we picked up our order, a homeless person walked in asking for food. Immediately, the owner filled up a container for food for them no questions asked. They’re a pillar of pride and good food in Ballard."

"I ordered from this restaurant by Doordash because it had ten 5 star reviews. It was the worst food I ever had from a restaurant in the USA. The food had little or no similarity to the dishes they claimed to be (and I had the same dishes in dozens of other restaurants) and in taste and appearance seemed scraped off from the bottom of a burnt pot. I don't know if they have a bad night or what, but I'll never order from here again."

"The place is quiet and peaceful to host a party. You get full privacy and the ambience is also good. The owner is a very friendly and flexible person. One of my friends held a birthday party in this place and the prices were very reasonable. I would recommend this place again. Eating was decent, although not exciting and perhaps it is because the taste is not authentic Indian rather American. Had given 4 stars if the food was authentic Indians."

I had anticipated a more traditional Chinese-style buffet, but it turned out to be quite small. The restaurant itself is cozy and somewhat dim, giving it an empty vibe. The owners didn't engage with us much, so the place could use some more warmth and attention. Despite this, the food was really good, and I’ll definitely return to give it another chance."
