"We have been coming here for decades and wanted to get some frozen yogurt after a hot day. We drove all the way across town to get there and found NO ONE (customers or employees) inside wearing a mask. This was during the time it was mandated that all individuals wear masks in public places in Mesa due to the pandemic. One employee had a mask hung partly over her ear. We drove away without getting out of the car. Please, please be courteous of people that have valid reasons to avoid COVID-19. We want to support this local business again. I’ll update my review if they correct this problem. In response to the reply from the business: Thank you for the reply. We love Mesa Frozen Yogurt and look forward to returning. Unfortunately, there are some issues with your portrayal of operations there. With respect to customers not wearing masks, I’m well aware that wearing masks while eating is not feasible. However, google maps indicates that you do not currently offer dine-in as an option, which was part of why we were coming in the first place. We do exclusively take-out right now. Take-out is like a grocery store or any other public place. To me, that means customers wear masks unless they’re trying a froyo sample so they can decide what to order. The people not eating anything while sitting at the tables there certainly could have been wearing masks. With respect to the employees, I get it. Masks are uncomfortable and can aggravate some conditions. Unfortunately, the person working at the time we showed up was serving a customer with her mask dangling off of one ear. In general, these things combined send the message “Mesa Frozen Yogurt doesn’t take the pandemic seriously”. I hope I just came by at a bad time. In fairness and based on your assurances, I’ll try again. 2020-08-29 Update Just drove away without froyo again. Employees put masks on when a customer came in, which is an improvement. The issue is with the employee that went from eating a cone, to putting on their mask, to fixing their hair, and then directly to serving a customer without washing their hands. Masks become irrelevant when standard food safety procedures aren’t being followed. 2022 Update. Pandemic has mostly subsided and we’ve been back to Mesa Frozen Yogurt. Staff is friendly as always and the product was worth the wait. Bumping my rating up accordingly."
