"I'm not sure why this place has so many good reviews. We had a unfriendly waiter that made us feel rushed to make a decision, than never checked back after ordering. Tempura appetizer came with 2 shrimps and oil logged veggies. All the rolls were over sauced and the seafood did not seem fresh. Chicken teriyaki very underwhelming. We will not be back and don't reccomend"

"Went to celebrate my Birthday with 3 others and we had a great time on a Sunday early evening reservation. Food was very good with ample portions and great service, even though it was empty. We had cake from nearby Balducci's and ate it at the restaurant. It was our first time here, and will be back. Parking: Directly outside the restaurant. Service: Dine in"

"Our daughter loves sushi, so as a birthday treat we came to Tanuki after a recommendation. We were not disappointed. Service outstanding. Our waiter was helpful, friendly, attentive and helped guide us through the menu and choices. Food was incredible, it was all so tasty. Tasteful and thoughtful. We will be back"

"Sushi House is absolutely amazing. I absolutely adore this place. Every item I have ever tried from them has been flawless. What sets them apart is their incredible team. Always welcoming, always cheerful. They truly seem to love what they do. They offer a wide variety of options for vegetarians and vegans. Parking is plentiful as it is located in a strip mall. The restaurant is easily accessible for wheelchair users, with no issues getting in and out or dining indoors. They are more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions you may have, whether it be omitting or adding ingredients."

"Very disappointed. Heard good things but must have been family. Food was mediocre at best tuna was not fresh.Rolls done quickly but the result was not compatible to any decent sushi restaurant. Service was worse than the food. Lackluster is a good definition of poor service throughout the visit. Very quiet. No people on Saturday at 7pm. No value for bad food. Must be better sushi somewhere."

"Our server was great and friendly. He did mess up some drink orders, but with a group of 9 it’s expected. Food was great, sushi, pizza, burgers, we all loved it. It was super dead inside, which is suprising for a Friday night, but a nice place."

"The outdoor and indoor settings are great. Outside seating has tables and large couch seating. It?s under beautiful trees and is a warm cozy setting. The inside bar feels like cheers where friends and family relax and enjoy the friendly bar with great drinks. The food is very good. We tried one of everything but the hamburger was cooked perfectly with a mix of added items. The flatbread was rather dry and wouldn?t recommend it. (Perhaps it was over cooked. The location is great and there?s lots of parking. It really feels like you are in a wooded cabin even though you are near pacific coast highway. It?s busy for good reasons most of our friends go at least twice a month. You can also book a party or event there. Enjoy every bite and relax in the lovely setting"

"I have been going to Hama for 6years now. It’s changed ownership over that time – Toshi left…but they held true to the great sushi and fun atmosphere. No reservations, but if you become a regular like me, you are sat immediately. Ask for Maysao or Jason for the best service. Maysao is from the old school that ran the bar under Toshi. The Toro is better than any place I have been on the west side by far and prices are reasonable. I don’t think it’s on the menu, but Agadashi Tofu is my favorite when it’s cold outside and a great choice if you bring someone who is scared of raw fish. I lived in japan before and am kind of hard core (no California rolls for me), but if you have friends who are not big sushi people…but they like really like hot stuff…get them Jason’s Red Devil Roll with the “don’t sue me sauce.” This will provides loads of entertainment."

"I absolutely hate brussel sprouts. The waiter suggested the brussel sprout appetizer, so I took a risk. He wasn't wrong--they were truly delicious. And I may have just eaten the best pork chop I've ever had (the Apple Butter and Sage Pork Chop). No pictures--I was too busy eating."

"First time at Oka and we had lunch on a Saturday a little after noonish. My wife ordered sparkling water and I ordered a lychee martini that was on the menu. Waiter came back and said they were out of sparkling water and they could not make a mixed drink since the manager had not arrived to work yet. Strange concept to me and not a happy start for our dining experience. Overall, food was really good and my wife and I will be back for sure."

"Lot of style with not much function to back it up.Showed up 20mins after their Sunday lunch opening and I was left to linger for a while before a hostess regretfully shuffled up with not even an attempt at a smile. Just pointed a table out in a dank corner without bothering to walk me over. I took a well lit table instead.Table server was competent and friendly.As I finished, I went to. At groom and asked my server to bring check. When I returned my table was completely cleared… including my personal effects. Come on now….Music too loud. Lot of staff just standing around the bar and being unobservant of how to prepare/attend to guests.No need to return."
