"We took Kalua pig. It was quite salty, but very tasteful. The rice was decent. We ordered it without the macaroni salad, so I can't comment on it. We got it with cabbage, but because the menu made it difficult to order. I wish they had more vegetables on the menu to combine with meat and rice. Overall, the place felt very authentic. Good quality food for the price. If it were 20 degrees warmer out with chickens running everywhere, I would have thought I was back on Kauai."

"First time eating at Hawaiian Drive Inn since we have a similar restaurant close to our house. But I would drive an extra 15- 20 mins to eat here. Because they have more choices on the menu. For example, the poki, spam musubi and the Portuguese sausage, to name a few! We ordered the chicken, short rib plate, and poki. The chicken and short ribs were grilled perfectly and the poki was fresh. However I like my poki spicy so I added Siracha, Mayo and Frank's Red hot sauce home. We'll be back to try the Portuguese sausage! Ono Grindz! "

"Hawaiian restaurants seem to appear everywhere, but this is still one of my favorites. The restaurant is small and easy to miss on busy El Camino, but it is worth trying. They serve all food in take-out containers, so it is perfect for taking out. You also have about 10 tables if you want to eat in the restaurant. I recommend getting a mini plate if you don't starve... they come each with a duck, macaroni salad and a bowl of rice. I ordered the Bbq chicken today and it was delicious... and less than $4! If you are really hungry, they also have regular plates with more meat, macaroni salad and two cups of rice."

"OMG... this was the best place ever!! I loved it so so so much. I'm not a big eater but this food was from out of this world. I ate 5 different times in the same day and it was even more delicious each time. The lady that took my order was very kind and efficient. I will definitely be back tomorrow. I can't wait to try the rest of the food. I had teriyaki beef and teriyaki chicken and both were just as delicious. You can taste the barbecue and it's the very best I have EVER EVER had!"
