"(Updated) I came back since Los Jimadores changed owners and changed names and it's been a big improvement! I came at an off time but the food was way better than it had been when this place was still Amigos. The steak in my food was seared perfectly and excellently seasoned. A marked improvement. The decor is nicer and the seating is much more open. It's still not my favorite Mexican restaurant within 10 miles but it's become a much more desirable option. I can at least say it's the best tex-mex north-west Columbus has to offer. (Outdated) Amigo's offers pretty standard tex-mex fare but I'd take it over El Vaquero any day of the week. The seafood and Texas burritos are pretty good, and if you're looking for someplace in close proximity to the hospital I struggle to think of anywhere you could do better for a dine-in experience. I forget the goofy name they have for it but the big blue margarita is worth a try. The saving grace of this place is that it's got no real competition nearby, but I can think of a few Mexican restaurants within 5 to 10 miles that offer more memorable meals."

"We were thinking of grabbing Mexican food last night when I came across some recommendations of El Barco in Urbandale/Clive. We ended up giving them a shot — and boy am I so glad we did. We have recently moved to the area and have been on the hunt for Mexican food that reminded us of our favorite spot back home. About halfway thru the meal it was decided that we had now found something BETTER. My boyfriend had the steak tacos I had the vegetarian burrito/enchilada meal with rice. The plates were HUGE and the portions for the low prices were insanely impressive. We ordered queso which was perfection the salsa so fresh! Cherry on top? Our entire bill was $22. If you’re in the area and your wanting authentic (well, something other than Chipotle), delicious Mexican food you HAVE to make a stop at El Barco. We will be going back again again."
