"this was our first visit in a blue corn cafe, so we only learn on other reviews and after reviewing the online menu (which is slightly outdated as I learned the recently modified parts of the menu.) I can honestly tell them that we were very impressed. even my hard to impressive husband, who usually does not agree to eat ethnic foods of any kind (the seasonally overwhelm him) was enthusiastic and impressed and said that this is his new favourite restaurant! I am a vegan for medical reasons and my husband is a more ubiquitous. therefore we have scanned articles from each side of the menu. I decided to order three appetizers (two to share, one was only one cup for me) with a happy hour sweet taco and my man ordered the dinner special and I ordered the Cuban happy hour taco for him to expand his palate. the first appetizer was island afteros. a very generous portion of fresh nacho chips, filled with tomato, black olives and artichokes. for an additional fee of $1.50 they replaced a very generous part of daiya mozzarella cheese for regular milk cheese. they also offered a cup salsa that was so thin that it looked like they could drink it, but I would not recommend it. the witness was hot! I wasn't interested in the salsa and that was probably the only one I didn't like. the second appetizer was the plantain sampler. with this when they choose to order it, be sure that they have already informed their server that they are vegan. one of the sauces normally served with this plate is a combination that mayonnaise includes. this can be easily let off, or in situations like our, easily pointed out so that the allmnivores can enjoy while the vegans can safely immerse themselves in the mango sausage sauce. the three versions of the plantain include a hearty, deep fried chip shape, another hearty shape that was fried and then fried a second time. the third and last style is the wonderful sweet fried plantains that I and my family have loved since our first bite. first I didn't like any of the hearty versions, but I finally found a use that brought the taste of both forwards and she singed. the tomaten and salat served with the plantains sang backup for the chips and my stew was the supplement to the mashed fried plantains. the one-pot was amazing. black bean and sweet potato stew, served with cut avocado swimming on the top is vegan to begin, so does not require any changes. I recommend this court. my man chose the dinner special that served a chicken and cheese filled pupusa with honey chipotle glaze served with rice and sweet plantains. I know that this is a vegan and vegetarian food finder, but I know that I'm not the only vegan who has to share the esstic with an omnivore. his acceptance of the entire experience, as I mentioned earlier, was pure joy and he was blown away! all in all I would give blue corn cafe five stars, except happy cow will not be anything over four stars for restaurants serving meat."
