"Considering Beauty Essex Las Vegas is our absolute favorite restaurant in the world, we came in with high hopes for B E NYC. Unfortunately, we had a less than satisfactory experience. Our waitress was overloaded we barely saw her the entire time. There was a rotating cast filling in for her, but no one invested in our experience or taking care of our table. We waited for 15-20 minutes before ANYONE came to our table with water or to welcome us. Throughout the dinner, we sat with empty water glasses, empty drink glasses, dirty plates crowding our table. This would have NEVER happened at B E LV. We had to flag people down every time we needed something. I was embarrassed to have taken my family there—especially with all the incredible high end restaurants in the city. Besides the subpar service, there were also issues with the food. While the food overall was outstanding, there were dishes that were over cooked, like the Brussels sprouts hold bacon. They had no crispy edges and tasted steamed/mushy and bitter. We didn’t touch them because we had no clear waitstaff assigned to us, there was no one who asked if there was an issue or even cared to notice that we sent an entirely full bowl of Brussels back to the kitchen. Finally, our reservation down payment was not applied to our bill and when we called to inquire about it, the woman I spoke with said she couldn’t access that part of the system so there was nothing she could do. If you’re in NYC, I’d recommend dining elsewhere if you’re looking for an upscale experience. But if you go to Las Vegas, check out the Beauty and Essex there—it is LIGHTYEARS ahead. We did not feel valued as customers or even taken care of at B E nyc."
