"I am a local and coveted Mexican cuisine is something that always happens when you live in San Antonio, but my experience in the restaurant was not like the others today. My assessment is not based on the food itself, but on the absolutely terrible and negligible service of the employees. My meal was great, fajita nachos is a plate that you can never go wrong at the election, but on the arrival of our waitress, Whom stated that it was her birthday today, we decided to leave a good tip as a birthday present. The first situation that bothered the escape of chips with salsa, which lasted almost as long as our plates of food. In fact, we asked another waitress if she was good enough to get this for us. It was inferior, we brushed it out, but after waiting for refills on our drinks, we saw our waitress and another as excited in the corner of the dining area, that is, when we started. We were looking for help from another waitress to ask if we just have a plate to go, she was right, but before she grabbed it, she saw the check left by our waitress when our food came and added a tea to the check. She explained that our waitress forgot to charge the tea and with the left to get the shield. My mother and I remembered that the tea came with the special that my mother got and began to get frustrated, knowing that?s another thing we need to repair more time for her waiting. Uncertain, we were waiting for the To-Go box when the same waitress took her apron, left the door with her purse and obviously woke up for the day. I discovered boxes sitting at the tea station and stood up, went over and took one myself, grabbed my food and will pay. What do you know, our waitress is at the waitress who speaks to another employee and we ask her to pay us out. She tries to charge the tea and I remind her of the daily speciality that had the tea without a fee, she agreed, but after receiving the receipt, she still had a few dollars charged. We asked what the fee could be, and she informed us that she was charged for the To-go cup and to-go box. The same to-go box I had to stand up and wait for 10 minutes. It was a very frustrating experience and I? m glad I didn't give her the birthday tip I wanted to give her at the beginning of our meal. It is probably a good idea to just order food from the car thru instead of taking time out of your day, simply sitting and wasting your time with such terrible customer service. So that this is said, I will take my money and try in other places like Taqueria Arandas, which is right on the street."

"DISHONEST I have eaten at Atilano’s a dozen times and recommended it to others as well. Their food is decent and a good value…. HOWEVER…. Tonight (3/2/22) I went through the drive through between 7:30 and 8:00pm and ordered a chicken supreme burrito. I paid with my credit card. The drive through attendant handed me my food, but no receipt, so I requested it. After looking it over, I noticed she had tipped herself. She hadn’t asked if I wanted to tip, hadn’t handed me a receipt to fill out or sign. Simply charged my card without my permission. It was only a dollar, but the principle of charging my card without permission and then keeping the receipt did not sit well with me. So I pulled through the drive through, parked and entered the restaurant. I confronted the young girl who had taken my card at the drive-through window. I asked if this was common practice to charge their customers’ credit cards without their permission. She did not own her mistake or apologize, but told me they do not have the type of credit card machine that allows customers to choose their tip amount, as if this somehow justified her actions. She asked if I would like the tip returned and I said, under the circumstances, I would. She disappeared and returned some time later. Instead of giving me a dollar bill, she brought my refund in the form of a mostly pennies, a few nickels, and dimes. I realized that it’s possible other customers have had their cards charged without permission as well, so I called the restaurant to bring it to the attention of the owner. A female answered. (It sounded like the same female I had dealt with, but I can’t be sure I asked for the owner, but this girl claimed to be the owner. I thought it could be a language barrier so I asked again, “Do you own the restaurant?” and she said yes. I told her I was quite sure the owner was male. She scoffed and said, “I will take a message.” I told her I’d rather call back when the owner was in and to tell me when would be a good time. She hung up on me. I’m so disappointed in this experience, and I will not be giving my business to this restaurant again, nor will I be able to recommend it in good conscience. I also wanted to let others know. Check your receipts or pay cash so this doesn’t happen to you. UPDATE: The owner contacted me personally immediately upon posting my review. He listened, asked questions, and apologized repeatedly. He also promised to investigate the situation and offered to make amends. After several days, he contacted me personally again with an update and to thank me again for bringing the situation to his attention. This is what a good business does when a mistake has been made. I really appreciate his desire to make it right and I have a lot of respect for the way he handled his employee and the situation. I look forward to offering to business to this location again."
