"Update 8/4/2024: We returned to celebrate my wife 's birthday, 5 hour drive. So far the atmosphere is as great as always however so far the food and drinks are not. I got a raspberry lemonade vodka and it 's nearly impossible to drink with this straw and even when I do manage to drink some, it 's tart beyond enjoying. The spinach gnocchi is more like gnocchi soup, swimming in chicken broth (not in the description) and not enjoyable, even the gnocch was flavorless. The server asked if everything was OK, we said it wasn 't and explained that there was no way I could eat the gnocchi and she told us there was no resolution that we would have to pay for it even if she removed it from the table and she suggested we order a different dish. The $45 ribeye we ordered which was supposed to be medium rare was medium well, most parts of it were well done. Since the waitress already said she couldnt help us with the gnocchi situation and informed us we would be charged regardless, I ate most of the steak anyway because I was starving bu this point. The sesame crusted tuna is swimming in separated sauce which was unappetizing. The only part of our meal that we thoroughly enjoyed was the apple salad. Update again after speaking to the manager: I went down the list of everything we ordered just to communicate what went wrong, not even to get a refund but because it 's important to know when the service isn 't what it should be. She gaslighted me about the steak, telling me I shouldn 't have eaten it if it was overcooked and I explained that I 'm only communicating that an error was made, not that I wanted a refund for it and I ate most of it because I was hungry: The reason we go to restaurants in the first place. She was not receptive to my input. I tried to be nice and calm but honest but she was prepared to dismiss me left and right, and make me feel like it was MY fault for their mistakes and unsatisfactory food. As far as that steak goes, regardless if I ate it or not you can look at the picture for yourself and see that it 's nowhere near medium rare, and it lacks integrity that you can 't own up to that but instead blame me for still eating it. I wasn 't asking for a refund at that point and I made that clear. Let 's not let it get lost in the details: The server didn 't fix our issue with the gnocchi so I didn 't have much hope for her caring when I told her the steak was overcooked. She just said oh.. and walked away. The attitude is very much Yeah give us your money and get out of here, we don 't care if we served you the best we could have. I try my best to be easy to please, I might even still give a 4 or 5 star review even if there was an error here and there but for so many things to go wrong all the way up to the manager 's lack of integrity I just can 't recommend unappealing. This meal is incredibly disappointing, and we will not be coming back. It would be different if the customer service accommodated the things that weren 't perfect, I 've been in the restaurant business 14 years and I know very well an off night happens once in awhile but at least be prepared to correct the issue or refund the item. Old Review: Simple, classy, and chill atmosphere with fantastic food options and beautiful art. I 'm thrilled with my date night with my wife here. The braised short rib was the best, mango martini was perfect for a hot day, and don 't let the smaller portions fool you: When you get a rack of lamb it will definitely be a rack of lamb haha. That 's on us for ordering after already enjoying a few other items. We will definitely be back. PS: The music is fine, they play a little something for everyone. Disregard that other review complaining about it at least it wasn 't Even Flow."

"We visited Maaza29 and even though their expansion construction project is going on, the food was fantastic! I really like the offerings, the menu is robust enough to satisfy many palettes yet focused enough that the offerings were all very good to excellent. The menu just changed so I hope they update their online PDF, some things aren't available and the one super entree I had isn't on the website. You will note the site says Ethiopian Inspired. That's because the owner/chef's parents are Ethiopian and Italian, which makes for a wonderful dining experience! We started with the Sambusa, and a nice surprise was that we could mix/match two of the types (three are offered . Our choices included the Lentil and the Beef. We preferred the beef as it has the right flavor strength to stand up to being deep fried, the lentil was tasty however the deep fry process didn't quite match to lentils. Next time I want to try the Mesir as I do like lentils. : Next was the entree serving, I had a new veal offering in a tomato based sauce which was tender and extremely flavorful. The sauce wasn't a typical tomato based one, the spice mixture made it a smooth yet full flavored accompaniment to the veal. My wife's beef entree was done to perfection as well, and the injera was a great balance with the meal. It all worked together well. For dessert we had choices that were from Italy, and we enjoyed a nice pistachio parfait and an amaretto based dessert that were great, I'd pace myself next time to ensure plenty of room for these tasty treats! The wine list was focused yet solid choices, so the evening or lunch will be a pleasant experience for sure. When the construction is done the Ambiance will score higher and the noise lower. Try it!"
