"Do you want to know where the locals are going? You found it. Jax is a diner where the locals go for drinks and a cheap meal. Don't go through those doors looking for fast food. You won't find it here. This is good food and cheap prices. How do they offer quality at a fair price? They do it with long-term employees and locals who can walk through the door and demand The Usual. The night I visited, there was a waitress and a manager/kitchen, and that's okay. You eat here for the experience of knowing the people around you. They're visiting the waitress. Talk to the locals and as soon as you participate in a good conversation, your food will be shown. It may take twenty minutes, it may take an hour in a busy night, but that's okay. They came here for drinks and people, not for fast food. When your food comes... It's good. The food is hot and the prices are low. If you have time, this is the place to go. If you go through the door, there is a request to sit shield. We heard a voice from the kitchen scream out sitting out every place you want. We took a place on a table and the waitress showed up with the menus. The waitress had a conversation about beer and food. She knew the menu and the bar. She had a clumsy night, used to be pregnant. I decided to order a pizza that reminded me of one of my favorite mystic pizzas. I always buy when I'm in Mystic CT. It's sweet with the right amount of heat. One of the best Tortilla pizzas in town. Light and delicious. The perfect pizza for football on TV. This is a great place to watch a game, have a conversation, and get quite expensive food."
