"Ask a local about Urban Steam and you’ll immediately want to get a table here for your next night out, brunch, or just coffee. This restaurant does it all from roasting coffee to all you can eat spaghetti. The venue vibes with Banksy prints and mellow jams across its two part floor plan—food to the left, coffee to the right. Be sure to reserve a table if you’re stopping by on the weekends. This place stays packed. That’s the good. So here’s a bit of the bad, all of which is avoidable and may not reflect your experience. I’ve eaten here twice now since a local made the recommendation. Both times the food took around 30 minutes to prepare. I would have understood if it had been packed both visits, but only my latest visit featured standing room only in the lobby. This consistency makes me feel it’s part of the brand. So bring some conversation or be prepared to suffer social-anxiety-doom-scrolling while you wait for your meal. Last thing. Their waffles are glorious; dense, sweet, and crunchy. But at $14 it makes Waffle House the better choice in today’s economy—especially if you’re trying to satisfy the insatiable hunger of a growing kid. I understand the pricing of every other option on the menu. But I will always struggle with the idea of breaking a $20 just for a waffle. db"
