"I won’t go into too many specifics, but I had an extremely disappointing birthday dinner at Chamberlain’s. I’m honestly baffled by the good reviews, unless last night was just a one-off. The food was not good- certainly not fine dining steakhouse level. We visited because of the participation in DFW restaurant week, but even with the prix fixe menu, we didn’t feel it was worth the money. The “prime” ribeyes were covered in a weird pepper sauce (seriously, who covers a prime steak with sauce, unless it’s to hide something? and our steaks had to be sent back twice. Even then, the last time one of them came out, the medium rare steak was the rarest it could be and still be cooked. Like, RAW. They honestly did not seem like prime steaks, and were butchered incorrectly (thin, not properly trimmed. The creamed corn was terrible, the mashed potatoes mediocre. Even dessert was a giant disappointment. Tasted like frozen premade desserts from Sysco or Ben E. Keith. Cocktails were also not great. The only saving grace was our server, and the manager, who tried as hard as they could to make it right, but it just was not a good meal. We appreciated the extra freebie dessert, but we both hate coconut crème pie, so, it was pointless. We would have preferred to get our dry, bland bread pudding served with ice cream, like the menu described. The meatballs and complimentary bread and butter were good. It pains me to write this, because the FOH staff really did try to make it right, but even removing one of the steaks from the bill didn’t make it worth the money, and the owner/chef should be aware of this colossal failure in the kitchen. We tipped the server generously because he made the effort, but a better (and less expensive meal could have been had at Texas Roadhouse or Saltgrass. Spending half of the meal having to “speak to the manager” wasn’t exactly how I envisioned spending my birthday."

"We came on Friday night where there 's live Jazz music starting at 7pm. First off, Northern Liberty is kind of an up and coming area with a lot of restaurants geared towards the young and hip crowd. This is a very nice restaurant although i can think of another one that is better (more on that later). Street parking, as Northern Liberty goes, is nightmare, so i would suggest you reserve a spot (there are a few commercial parking lots within 5-7 minute walking distance). This restaurant has a nice large dining area with reasonably high ceiling. Service is good and quick. Drinks are fairly priced and good tasting although they tend to go for the sweeter cocktails. So be very specific if you want your drinks on the dry side. They are very good at making sure your drinks are served quick and refilled. We had the fried chicken sandwich (tender, tasty), the gnocchi with shrimp (also very good, although the gnocchi style is non-traditional, but that 's fine by me). Roasted vegetables are finely done and tender. Their price/serving ratio is also very reasonable. Their bathroom is gender neutral, clean, but the booths are small and a little cramped. The jazz music is good but due to the large dining area (thus, a lot of diners), it 's a little noisy and it slightly drowns the live music. Hence my 4/5 rating. Very good, but not great. I 've had a better experience at another restaurant called 'South ', where the southern cuisine is slightly better, and there 's a dedicated (smaller) live Jazz performance area with more intimate setting, and the crowd who go there are more quiet so you can enjoy the music better. In other words, at South, the jazz music is part of the main attraction, while at Heritage the music is more of a background compliment (as such, it 's fair that you have to buy a ticket, at very reasonable price, to enjoy the live Jazz at South, while the music at Heritage is free). Hence i give South 5/5, a slight edge over Heritage. Don 't get me wrong though, Heritage is still quite good. You probably should try both and compare them yourselves."

"We had high expectations for this place being fans of Primehouse. Sadly it did not meet expectations. While our server was kind and friendly, food service was slow. It took awhile to be greeted after being sat down. Once we placed our order, it was fast downhill from there. The bread service was hard, nearly inedible. Our appetizer took ridiculously long to come out. We waited nearly an hour it came out. Our steaks came out, we ordered it the same way, medium, and they came out completely different tasting and cooks. The outside was quicked seared on such a high heated that it was really crusty and tasted of burnt oil and the other tasted like burnt chicken fat. Too odd tasting for us. One steak was completely rare. The sides were bland, and more like a food banquet hall style, of unseasoned and soggy veggies and overcooked croquettes. For as along as we waited it was an utter disappointment. Our server was so apologetic, offered to change it, but we had enough of the wait and environment, we politely declined and just asked for the check. Then our server brought over the manager, and this is what completely turned us off. The manager was very condescending. She was a complete mess. She was aggressive for no reason. We just wanted the check to leave. She was trying to get a rise out of us and you could tell that even the server was uncomfortable with how unprofessional the manager was that she went out of her was to apologize and offer a gift card to us. We said it was no big deal, it wasn 't her fault and not to stress about it. We 'd still take care of her because she was so kind. Another, off putting thing, besides the rude old lady of a manager is that they overserved patrons alcohol, so what should 've been a upscale environment, turned into a pub scene with one patron falling off his chair, speaking so belligerent and loud. It was very trashy and to think that was during a weekday evening. It was super uncomfortable. The guy who was completely trashed started saying don 't worry im not going to sue and just continued to drink. I expect this behavior in a pub but not at something considered to be fine dining ."
