"Sometimes it’s nice to find a beautiful eating/cafe experience in an industrial chic artisan and down to earth location such as Gowanus in Brooklyn … and Runner and Stone is such an experience. The food and ambience is pure art and simply DELICIOUS. My friend and I meandered over on a sunny late morning and stepped into a gourmet heaven. There’s a sandwich menu on the wall with lovely choices, a bar with pastries and various food items. There’s bread, coffee, coolers with salads and drinks … wine for sale … tables here and there. (Yes it is humane and there is a restroom).We were there for a quick lunch and chat and it was lovely seeing a steady stream of people getting items to go and shopping for gourmet grocery items.It seems like it has dinner too and would definitely like to try that real soon!Thank you Runner and Stone."

"We came at 8am, when they were just taking the pastries out of the oven. We had a chocolate croissant, and a regular croissant. Both had the perfect texture (despite being a bit cold), with all the layers detaching easily, as it should be. Taste and depth of flavor could go from good to excellent if they used French butter, which I’m 80% sure is the main improvement point. Cappuccino was excellent"

"Always fresh, always excellent. The only drawback is that they need to know more people about the other excellent food they have. While the pizza is brilliant, I love the Gio's Salad and the Chicken Parm is from this world! When you come, take a menu and explore. You won't do anything wrong."

"Danish left little to be desired, cherry cheese had next to no cherry on it, and both mine and my wife's were stale. Danish were overpriced for the quality. Wife tried calling to complain, as we got them on our way out of town, but the voice mailbox was full."

"I called before to ask if they had the cookies I wanted, they said they did. I get there and the young woman that waited on me didn't know what I was talking about and didn't try to help after I asked for the cookies; she rushed me through my transaction. I ended up with a few bakery items that came in 3 different containers, all of which she didnt even offer a bag even after seeing me struggle to hold everything,yes, I could have asked, but it'sthe principle. I found her to be very unhelpful and impatient. Won't be coming back to this location at all."

"I saw some negative reviews, so I was hesitating to order from this place. I waited many hours for the notweste next door, so I didn't really have many possibilities. the personal inside was very friendly. my job was ready in the exact time they told me it would take time. I had the chicken parm sandwich. it was very delicious. big brot, good sauce, lots of cheese, huh was well cooked. I usually don't leave any reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised here and I wanted to spread some love."
