"Since 1949... are you jokes? There must be only a dozen restaurants all over America, in small cities that are even 25 years old, let alone 72 years! Hahaha... I rolled one night in Las Vegas and ransacked the strip for a motel room. I couldn't find one in July.2021. Of course I had special needs: my 10 1/2-year-old companion, Raji, a 120 lb. Rottweiler. I needed a pet friendly motel. Luckily, when I went to the street and went on to Raton where I usually went to my favorite motel, the Robinhood motel, I stayed at Budget Inn and met Jay, the Reserveist. Cool like Paul Newman in his famous role, Jay smiled, greeted me and Raji, and I had a room. Better than that, I asked everywhere in Las Vegas that I can get a quick meal, other than the usual fast food chains. Jay explained that next door the bar was connected to The Hillcrest and was open for another 35 minutes. I went to Nirvana and had a beer and wonderful chicken sandwich at the bar. So beautiful... The Hiilcrest is a unique place. Next visit, I'll eat in her dining room, a special place that looks like Audy Hepburn or Spencer Tracy could start at any time. At least I will and will be happy waiting for the spooky guests to show."
