"This restaurant made a bad sound for my recent trip. It was difficult to find a well-attended restaurant in the area and we settled on Shabu after long waiting times. The whole decor here is beautiful, it is far too loud and makes the conversation difficult. More importantly, I cannot recommend food. Although the sushi we ordered was ok, the hot pot was atrocious, and was basically a $32 fajita in a simple soup base with top rays, as well as carving of Char (which can cause cancer). Both my friend and I agreed that this is the worst restaurant we were together. Make yourself a favor and go to Yuki Yama instead."

"After slow service at the start, the sushi started appearing and it was most excellent. It’s better to order off the chef special menu than the standard sushi menu even though the latter are quite excellent. Noisy as other reviewers have noted. Updated: went back a second time. Service was excellent. Sushi was excellent. Hauntingly good in fact. This is now the go to for sushi for me."

"Love everything about this place. They are extremely accommodating to vegan and gluten free diets with many different vegan sushi rolls to choose from. They even let us do a vegan version of the crispy rice (with avocado instead of spicy tuna).The patio is super cute and dog friendly. Great sake selection, great appetizers, great sushi, great service."

"This is my first time experience at a Michelin star restaurant and I really enjoyed it! I booked the reservation around a month earlier to make sure I can pick the date and time I want. They called me to confirm my reservation two days ahead of time and really made sure asking me if I have anything I don’t eat. The food is very fresh and the service is very great. The menu is fixed and actually was not as expensive as I thought (80 usd per person before tax and service fee) 10 courses! The one thing I didn’t like was it is a little bit noisy when everyone is seated. It’s probably due to small space with a lot of tables very close to each other. Other than that, everything is great!"

"First off the valet at the hotel are very friendly. The wait staff at the restaurant is top notch and very friendly and understanding. We had staff check in on us no less that 6 times while we were there and it made us feel very comfortable and important. The food was a knockout, the fish was melt in your mouth creamy and the drinks were great as well. The ambiance was sublime, we sat outside in the courtyard with a view of the waterfall and the trees, it was serene and tranquil. Value for the food was also amazing. All in all a fantastic restaurant for a semi formal date or a business party. 10/10 WILL recommend"

"I was really looking forward to going to this restaurant after reading some reviews. Sushi and roles where good, but unremarkable. Ambiance was not really to my liking.. It has that warehouse feel and I could see it getting very loud if there was a crowd. We tried the blackened edamame. Quite a large bowl (we didn't finish) Although I enjoyed it, I don't recommend it with sushi.. It tends to over power. Had the Machi-Bon, they were pretty tasty Salmon and yellow tail sushi where good/average Unagi was good, but cold. #7 role was very good. Several of my favorite sushi/sashimi items where missing from the menu and nothing too exotic."

"9/10 17:00-6:00, I, child and woman. Food quality was very good overall. Less quantity with higher price. But I and my child had diarrhea this night. I have no super clear evidence that Sushi caused the diarrhea of my and child, that was for the first time Sushi meal caused problem for me and my daughter. What I ate little, but my wife wasn't from dinner was just Saba, King Salmon Sushi here. For many others, including other sushi and dessert afterwards, we shared with all 3 people."

"For an off-the-beaten path, middle of suburban Sandy, this place has a menu that rivals any authentic restaurant you can find. It?s got a chic decor and nice vibe. There were only two of us so we could only try out so many thing but lots of things looked so good. We didn?t get to try the ramen or any of the rice dishes. We?ll come back some day to try those. We did get a roll, some yakitori, ikayaki, and nabeyaki udon. Everything was perfect. Just the udon was a lighter in flavor than we?re used to. We should have asked for some shichimi powder but we didn?t. We didn?t find anyone that spoke Japanese but clearly the menu is put together by someone who knows what they?re doing. Oh prices are very reasonable too. On the low side for the quality. Definitely worth trying again. Ps. One other minor thing not great. Tempura should be flash fried with delicate and light batter but the tempura shrimp in our udon was a little on the heavy and greasy side. Maybe temp of the oil or the quality of the batter?"
