"My sister (who is a restaurant owner herself) and I were only in LA for less than four days, but we ate at fundamental DTLA four times! It 's located conveniently at the end of a cable car line, one block from our motel, yet has a tucked away and undiscovered gem feel to it. Colorful, inviting décor, a very friendly staff--including the owner, Pat--and nice art on the walls contributed to that we 've found a home feeling. We managed to sample at least seven different menu items between the two of us and they were consistently yummy, served with a smile and a joke or two. Portions were plentiful. The oatmeal was amazing, filled with apples and cranberries and bananas. Coffee was just right. We got back to Santa Barbara last night and I miss fundamental DTLA already."
