"We enjoyed an amazing meal and the wonderful company of the owner and her family after a day at the Sea Hear Now festival. We grew up in southern Louisiana and have eaten a lot of great, southern food along the Gulf Coast. We found this place by chance, since we parked nearby. We were thoroughly impressed by the food. The food is made with fresh ingredients. The owner has adjusted recipes to make healthier versions taste even better than the usual. My husband had a generous amount of juicy fried chicken perfectly cooked asparagus. We shared a black eyed pea and beet side salad. I had the tilapia with sweet potato topping. I wished I could have finished it all but my husband ended up eating my leftover to-go fish, out of the box and with his bare hands as soon as we got to our truck. We both enjoyed generous servings of collard greens (Oh, those collard greens! I could have eaten them out of their supply. . The cornbread was perfect. We live four+ hours away but this place may be calling us back. If you’re fortunate enough to meet and talk with the owner, Janice, you’re in for the full treat."
