"We went to Daniel because we have had excellent experiences there before. Unfortunately both the food and service were poor last night. With respect to service, it could have been because of the holiday rush. Our waitperson did not manage the timing of drinks, apps and entrees well. We had to keep flagging her down to remind her that certain parts of the order had not arrived or were not taken. With respect to food, I was disappointed that there weren’t more vegetarian or vegan options on the entrees menu. In addition, my husband’s swordfish came with two pieces, both of which smelled bad. He sent the order back (which I have only seen him do once before in the 30 years we have been together). The staff handled his concerns very well: they took his order for salmon, which came relatively quickly and was good. The hostess came by to listen to his concerns directly, which we appreciated. But overall, the quality of food and especially the service were not in line with either expectations or the prices on the menu."
