"I've been to scores of Thai restaurants over the year, and nearly all of them offered Penang curry. But Bangkok Avenue was the first one I'd ever seen to offer Penang curry with short ribs. It was listed as a chef's specialty, so I ordered it. The curry was good, the short ribs were good. The combination did not seem optimal: from now on, it's back to ordering the curry with chicken. Overall, Bangkok Avenue struck me as a better-than-average neighborhood Thai restaurant, but nothing top tier. The half-filled room was noisier than it should have been."
