"I made a reservation a day in advance for 11 people at Sakura, I was asked for my credit card number to save the table with. Okay, no problem, I understand if a party doesn’t show up you lose money. When seven of us showed up tonight on time and the host working nicely asked us to wait for the rest of our party, we happily obliged. The entire party consisted of servers so we completely understand company policies. Well, three members cancelled last minute and one was running extremely late and would only make it for dessert. When we told the manager at the host stand this, she was extremely rude. She told us that we had to wait for the last person. I reiterated that the last person would not make it until dessert. She replied with a sigh and in a condescending tone, that the last girl could not order food. Understandable considering we were eating at a Teppan table. But then she continued to repeat herself to us, just in case we did not understand. She treated us like dumb children. She snapped that we had to wait 10 minutes for a new table. Forty minutes after our reservation we were finally seated. Walking into the dining room we realized we were one of three parties that were sat. The table we were taken to fit 12 people, enough for our original reservation. The other party in the restaurant was asked to move to a different table three times. The service was wonderful and the cook Caleb was fantastic and amusing. I am extremely disappointed in the manager, obviously discriminating us because we were a party of 21 year olds. As I said before, we all have worked in restaurants for many years and this behavior was inexcusable. I am sad to say that I will not go back to the Sakura in Flagstaff and neither will any of the people in my party. Thanks for listening."
