"Amami Sushi is a casual Japanese dining spot that is most well known for their omakase set. There are multiple Amami Sushi locations, with this one being on the busy El Camino Real right by the border of Millbrae. They have a small parking lot just for their restaurant. The inside features several tables as well as counter seating by the sushi bar. I have dined here on multiple occasions for dinner as well as ordered takeout from here. The dining experience inside tends to be a bit mixed, usually depending on how busy they are at the time. Even if there is a table available, I have found that it can take a while before they clean it up and allow for seating. The same can be said after ordering food where it can take a short or long time for the food to arrive on different occasions. They seem to get a lot of delivery orders depending on the day and at times, that can make the dine-in experience not as good overall. As for the food here, all the sashimi tastes fresh and very good. I recommend their omakase which may sound pricey at $42, but is worth it and affordable compared to other omakase which can go for well over a hundred dollars. The omakase includes a nice variety of nigiri with generous cuts of sashimi. They add a little bit of garnish on some of them which gives them a nice little kick. The wasabi here is actually great as well. The ratio of fish to rice is just right to make the entire meal not overly filling and full of flavor. Besides their omakase, their set meals, rolls, and combos are certainly not bad as well. I've tried their teriyaki chicken which is tender and flavorful. Their sashimi combo also has a nice selection of thick cuts of sashimi."

"excellent customer service and great food! perfect birthday party for their Hibachi enthusiasts. make reservations as the weekends are very popular here. we had a party of 6. wasabi has 3 very large hibachi tables that can accommodate up to 20 people. there is also a nice bar area and a dining room/sushi bar. they have everything they can eat sushi too. we came for hibachi. there were many groups that celebrated birthdays, and everyone was made to feel special. I love how to spread you, instead of attaching you to another table, where another party is always sitting when possible. Those who celebrate birthdays are specially treated, including balloon hats or animals, an ice cream with candle, while the personal beats on a drum and horny everyone to sing happy birthday. it's fun. eating is very good and the portions are generous. only knocked it was so hot in the hibachi esbereich. in the course of the years were here many paints, and the temperature was never a problem. Maybe because it was very cold evening, the combination of heat from hibachi was too much. of all the hibachi decisions in the opposite, imo them most meat here. whether steak, huh or seafood there is always much. everyone had hibachi except me. I had a bentobox. it was so much to eat, I took a lot of it home. if they are looking for a great Hibachi place, they try it here. it's worth going out something."

"We have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Burt Rapoport's newest restaurant since it was announced last year. Originally scheduled to open last year October, but typically Florida construction, it was delayed. When it did open, we were out of the country. So this was the first reservation I could get for a Saturday night. We have been big fans of Burt's restaurant for years.Burt hired Bryan Empero as his Executive Chef , who has an extension pedigree in the Asian Food world. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and cooked all over the world.First in Beijing, China, then with chef Yoshihiro Murata at the three-Michelin-starred Kikunoi Honten in Kyoto, on to KALU in Charlotte, North Carolina, where it was ranked second in the nation in the inaugural Food and Wine Magazine’s “People’s Choice Best New Chefs in America, and lastly at the Mizumi at the Wynn in Las Vegas.Taking over the old Apiero restaurant which founded and sold next to Burt Max's in the Delray marketplace. There is a huge patio area and a smaller enclosed patio in the front. The menu is divided into different sections: DIM SUM, SMALL PLATES,SOUPS SALADS,NOODLES RICE,LARGE PLATES,ROTISSERIE SPECIALITIES,SIDES, AND DESSERTS.Started with Classic Egg Roll, 2 nice size eggrolls with loads of flavor, the best I have had in years, comes with duck sauce but be careful, it is on the spicy side. For mains, we share some large plates:JUMBO SCALLOPS ,snap peas, celery XO pan sauce,SWEET SPICY HUNAN PRAWNS,crispy jumbo shrimp, peppers, onions, ginger, chili, and cilantro, and BUR TAO'S FEAST,wok-stirred eggplant, green beans, broccoli, and red peppers in a garlic sauce, accompanied by cauliflower rice. The other dishes come with steamed rice. All were nice size portions and great flavors.Kim, our server was very knowledgeable, and attentive. Can't wait to return and try the duck.Burt has another winner to add to his collection of restaurants."
