"I have been to Red Star several times, but always at night until my last visit. I have noticed the service is hit and miss (sometimes good, sometimes ****) but the food is generally good. Recently I was downtown meeting friends for lunch and they suggested Red Star. I normally go for places where I can relax, and I don't think of Red Star that way at all! However, we took a group of 8 and it was actually my best Red Star visit to date! I got the fish tacos, which were surprisingly phenomenal. Make sure to get them with the side of black beans if you like a little spice, because they are probably one of the best things on the menu (maybe even better than the tacos themself). My friends got salads, sandwiches, etc. The standard fare hit the spot with each person, but I have to say, those of us that went outside of the comfort zone and tried some of the more non-traditional dishes got the best meals."
