"Our server seemed quite annoyed that we were there, and he made sure to let us know he had several other tables to attend to, implying he would be slow in taking care of us. His attitude came across as downright rude. When he finally came to take our drink orders, he bluntly asked, “Do you want cheap alcohol or expensive alcohol?” I found that incredibly disrespectful. Why not simply refer to it as bottom shelf or top shelf?
After a considerable wait, he returned with our drinks but then walked away again. Eventually, he came back and asked if we wanted to start with appetizers. I said no, as we were ready to order, but he informed us we would have to wait yet again before leaving the table. He did drop off some cornbread, which had good flavor but was quite dry.
I opted for the house favorite, the pork chop, based on prior reviews, and this was the only highlight of the evening. The sauce was delicious, but there simply wasn’t enough of it. Our server eventually explained that he was the pastry chef, but despite his earlier rudeness, we decided to order the s’mores dessert. It was enjoyable but a bit too sweet for my taste.
The best part of the night was the live music from The Copper Sonics; they were fantastic. I might consider giving this restaurant another shot, but only if we don’t end up with the same server, as the customer service was truly disappointing."
