I understand that new mgmt has taken over and so I am glad that caps become one of the hotspots in the opposite. eating is great (balboa sandwich is on-point!, our only wish was for more vegetarian and vegan options. the mood is trendy and it is a big brunch or date night spot in the heart of hackensack. also the personal was attentive and pleasant. we hope caps surrounds how we want to become regular!"

"The restaurant was decorated nice, the owner and chef came out to chat with us. The food was very good, good selection of entrees, we ordered the firecracker cauliflower on recommendation of our waitress and it was to die for, one of my party claimed he wasn’t a “cauliflower guy” had seconds and thirds…it was really very good. Someone ordered the famous pineapple bowl which was a choice of grilled chicken or shrimp served on a bed of sweet teriyaki tossed fried rice in a fresh pineapple bowl …usual dish but was executed excellently. Finished off dinner with bread pudding which was to die for. Definitely will be back… they do breakfast and lunch…breakfast looks very interesting."

"I only have 1 bad thing to say. Overall, the food is very good and our server was great. I ordered the tempura shrimp. It was terrible! Not much of a tempura flavor, but the worst complaint is the breaded shrimp was served in a sauce that filled the bowl. So the shrimp was so soggy, it was terrible. I should have sent it back, but didnt. The General's chicken was very good and so were other dishes we had. Overall, a nice place to have dinner!"
