"Given the close to perfect rating, expectations were rather high. The restaurant looked great and seating service was quick and passable on a Tuesday night. Unfortunately my complete meal was not as complementary. My plates certainly looked great but the rice in both my entrees was not properly prepared and seasoned. The seaweed used for my roll was not crisp meaning it was either not toasted or stored properly before service to account for the humidity. The bed of rice in my Chirashi was lightly seasoned with furikake seaweed but that hardly made a difference. It was still under seasoned. The sliced fish in my chirashi was fresh, but there wasn 't any difference in taste from piece to piece. No amount of soy sauce or wasabi was going to enhance my chirashi. My experience certainly did not lay claim to a best ever designation and I 've had my share of great sushi."

"Food is made fresh daily! Sushi roles are rolled by the owner and his family all day! Order! Authentic! Health score of 97 A published at the front door! Fish tank is nice to see if your first walk in, although gold fish are hard to wait, so the aquariums are never clear, although the tank is serviced by a professional company monthly. Friendly customer service! Get back and clean atmosphere with a full bar and a terrace seating! Ramen Bowls, Sushi and Hibachi meals are all delicious! Some of the reviews I have seen here must have been on a bad day or the person doing the post was not as attentive as they thought. Just fresh food here! Family owned and operated. All sauces also from scratches! Delicious!"

"We (my important other I) may only come here a 2-3 year, but we always seem to enjoy the food here. To be honest, we usually order only from the sushi page of the menu, but all so often we order from the other options that they typically say with nothing bad about the way the food tastes. The only negative that is not a real negative is the prices that we eat sushi quite often before a southern suburb it seems really fast to stack here "

"We had not eaten here much during the pandemic, but we’ve been going almost weekly for a month and have enjoyed dining in. This is a family owned business, and they are super kind. We’re often brought a wonderful appetizer for free, to encourage us to try different things. And while the food is amazing, the Spicy Crab Chips are super yummy. You get 5 and they alone are nice and filling. I hope this local restaurant survives…business hasn’t gotten back to pre-pandemic levels and they need customers!"

"beautiful place, cool location, good server, average dips and drinks. we have a few speciality and regular rolling and 2’drinks. that was nice, but nothing special here. not sure if it tries to be an elite sushi place or just a decent place with a good prospect. only to reach the latter. all in all it was good, but I had expected more. felt more like a college bar than a chic sushi place."

"Not the best experience. Poor from walking in the door. Not greeted, not seated promptly, linen napkin was thread worn and had a string on it. The fork was cheap and old. The floor around our hibachi table was dirty, even though we were there for a 5 o'clock reservation. The food was okay but not great. The chef was good but the fan at our table was so loud we couldn't hear him. Our server was great and bet competent, especially as she was managing several tables. A manager bumped into me on the easy out. He was walking around the dining room not looking where he was going. He apologized but didn't ask if our dinner was good, say have a nice evening, thank you nothing. I think he exemplifies the overall atmosphere there very few seemed happy to be there."

"It is a little overpriced on many things (like food! but they have a good selection of international food products, implementation food options and a good bakery. I prefer to do the amount of my grocery store elsewhere, but AJs is perfect if you want a small shop shopping experience... just be prepared for crowded shopping at the top of the snow birds season."

"Just had our first experience at Shinto and were blown away with the service, the food, and the atmosphere. They accommodated our request to sit outside, were seated and greeted by friendly staff, had an exceptional waiter named Mike that was very honest about his recommendations on the menu, and had terrific exchanges with everyone that served us. "Had a great time celebrating a birthday with my family. The atmosphere was great, the service was quick, and the food quality was good but could have been a bit better. Portions were huge! Had leftovers for 2 meals. Our chef was really fun and sociable. Would definitely go again! Had the combination dinner with shrimp and steak. "I see someone said they don't have cocktails, but they do. It was very impressive. I strongly recommend coming to lunch. The place is very nicely decorated. The lunch special was wonderful with two people because you then try a variety of sushi when you get it. I love soup and it was great. I'd come back to Ramen the next time. prices are large; the place is clean; the service is great."
