"This is a long overdue thank you and shout out to Brendan, the manager, and also to the the chefs and wait staff at Brotzeit Lokal for the amazing dinner they helped my family put on for 25 out-of-town wedding guests the night before my son's wedding in Oakland last Fall. Brendan helped us come up with a wonderful menu over the phone (We live in Portland) that was served family style, allowing us to know what we would be paying for the evening up front. Everyone enjoyed their choice of salmon, fish and chips, or schnitzel with several sides served to the table, and of course fun choices of beer and wine. The apple strudel dessert was just as I remembered from visiting Germany. Brendan and his staff were was so welcoming...it was the perfect place for our gathering. If you are looking for a great spot to bring family and friends together for a delicious family style meal that will leave everyone happy, I can't say enough about the service Brendan and his team provided. My only caution would be to suggest that guests take note of the sign in the parking lot to leave nothing in view in your car while dining. Sadly, one of our guests, returned to a broken car window, due to having left a camera case in view (We ARE from Portlandia after all). Brendan was so kind to go the extra mile to help locate a cardboard box from which to create a barrier for the night to keep rain out. The window was fixed the next day and our friend is back to taking photos with a new camera replaced by insurance...Thank goodness he'd just downloaded all the photos prior to traveling. Thank you, Brendan, for your concern and helpfulness in this situation. Our guests really appreciated it."
