"Best lobster I?ve ever had! Staff was kind and knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions about lobster and the area. We came here after Geddy?s was sort of a bust, but Galyn?s did not disappoint. And all things considered, it was probably the cheapest lobster dinner I?ve ever had too. We were lucky enough to get a table on the patio which was absolutely lovely. Very nice view of the harbor and park with lots of natural light. The lobster was cooked perfectly and easy to remove from the shell. We were told this was a female. The rice and broccolini were also delicious."

"HORRIBLE. Service at the bar was slow and disinterested. The unpadded wood chairs were both uncomfortable and incongruous with the elegant room. Once seated with a menu, I noted the absence of their famous lobster stew. They were known for this stew with the lobster shaped puff pastry atop, and this should have tipped me off the kitchen skill had plummeted. I ordered the lobster (chowder? bisque to be followed by the lobster dinner. The bisque arrived, and other than looking a little dark, was nicely presented with a small portion of lobster. The lobster meat was tender and warm. BUT the bisque was ghastly. It had all the flavor of flour and warm water. It wasn 't just bland; it was not food but instead paste typically given to children. Upon receiving this dish I proceeded to do something I have never done before: I called over the waiter and advised him this was not to my liking; to cancel the entrée; and charge me only for the porridge if I were required to pay since I ate the piece of lobster (with the remainder of the gruel left undisturbed in the bowl . Without any inquiry over my dissatisfaction, I was presented with a bill for the bilge. I paid and departed without so much as an inquiry or expression of concern. The inescapable conclusion is that the establishment is fully aware its fare is wholly inesculent; otherwise, general curiosity alone would have warranted what seems to be out of order or is there something else I might bring you, or I 'm so sorry our food has sickened you. Certainly the pandemic staff shortage has hobbled the kitchen. But there are plenty of canned and institutional bisques that are at least palatable. Who hasn 't eaten on an airplane. But this was far worse than airline food. The combination of poor food and unprofessional management compels dining elsewhere in Bar Harbor. That the restaurant would serve this compels avoiding anything from its kitchen. Look elsewhere for now."

"Havana's team has healed an incredible evening-dinner experience. We made our reservation a few weeks in advance, and we are very happy that we are. We included that we celebrated our honeymoon in the online booking, and the hostess knew that and congratulated us at check-in! The group behind us also had no reservation and was told that they were able to come back and sit at 20:30. Our table was in a beautiful corner of the restaurant, and they contain a map of all the staff who congratulate us on our honeymoon!!! The first treat and the bread that was brought to us were so beautiful. The apricot shop was a nice touch, and the bread plate and accompanying spreads were delicious. We wanted the recipe for the black bean spread and the spicy chili oil and butter were also incredible. The wine book is incomparable, we were clearly above our minds in the 70 pages, but also with the combination of participants we wanted to order. The sommelier heard our demand for red, but pairing with seafood and lambcuffs and recommended 2 special bottles. We chose one of his recommendations and it was really perfect for soups and 2 ducks. While we enjoyed the seafood cats, we cannot say enough amazing things about the cured pumpkin soup! We know we never reach his size, but we want to try to make it ourselves. It was creamy and tasty and had only the perfect mix of spices. On the Entrees both were the perfect portions that we even went a few into a container. The seafood paella had so much seafood from as many varieties as the chorizo! One of the best paellas we have ever had. And the lamb was buttery and almost melted in our mouth. Cooked perfectly and we rarely took the recommendation of the head of Medium. Dessert the blueberry bread pudding was complete perfection. We brought the pumpkin back with us."

Vegetarian options: Only 2 vegan options and both are tofu. "Dropped by for dinner and was floored. My fiancé and I have been here for the past few days and this is the most bang-for-your-buck we’ve found so far. We did drinks, apps, entrees, and dessert and it’ll be our best AND most cost effective meal of the trip. Highlights: Charcuterie board featured pickled fiddleheads that were phenomenal. The beef Tourtiere was also great for a chilly fall evening. Lowlights: Nada Do yourself a favor and add Black Friar Pub to your itinerary!"

"When we visited Acadia, I explored all the lobster sites, and this was at the top of my list. It was not disappointing that I went here twice for the naked lobster roll, and once for the lobster roll with Mayo. Both were excellent, but the simplicity and freshness of the naked lobster with butter and a lemon was one of my favorites of the trip. Also make sure you get the potato salad it has fresh dill and is the best side I had from all lobster pounds. I was happy that this was only a few minutes from our campsite, and they make it easy to order online also for pickup. Great place!"

"One of our traveling companions on a cruise mentioned this place for lobster. Don't be fooled by the pizza sign outside...they serve a whole lot more. We all started out with a few beers and some clam chowder which was very good. Our server Casey put on a show for us...each couple ordered a 2 lb lobster to share $69 ea). At our request, he brought the three live crustaceans to our table for our amusement and approval. We all enjoyed the results and would recommend this place to others."

"We were fired for about an hour in a tourist place on the street. A local turned us to Jordan. He said that "the locals were going. We were welcomed and arrived in a few minutes. The vibe is small town diner, charming and warm. Our waitress was super friendly... the kindest person we met on our trip. My husband ordered the Western Omelette. He was very happy with the portion size and cooking on the eggs. It came with a wonderful freshly baked muffin that we took the next morning in a carriage and chased on it. I had the blueberries pancakes with blueberries syrup 2 eggs over easy. You were absolutely delicious. I was so grateful that they were not excessively sweet. I couldn't stop eating them, even if I was full. All right. The eggs were unexpectedly cooked for perfection. I'm always nervous about the simple order. It's a local restaurant. The food is generous and delicious. Coffee's good. There is no bar. If you want a mumosa, go down the street."

"Nice choice for romantic dinner. We started with a wedge salad and a McKay 's salad. Wedge was a nice portion with blue cheese, bacon, cherry tomatoes, and vinegarette drizzel. I 'm not a fan of vinegar, but the small amount was complimentary. My wife 's salad: Blue cheese, nuts, raisins, with truffled vinegarrette. She said it was light and a good blend of flavors. Main course of fisherman 's catch was really good. 32$ for shrimp, scallops, haddock, and fries. Slaw was fresh, but not to my taste. Loved the fresh cut fries and breading! We went with an Austrian wine, Gruner Veltliner, as an unknown entity upon recommendation. Reading the label goes well with anything fried lol. It was really good with a peppery finish. Wife 's main course of Mushroom Marsala Sacchetti was delish. Good mix of flavors. Creamy sauce with stuffed pasta. She was very happy with her choice. I was stuffed, and am a big man, from my platter. An assist probably from the wine convinced my wife to order Toffee Sticky pudding. Similar to bread pudding but banana or zucchini bread (not sure). I was glad when she pushed the dessert to my side of the table. I like more caramel, but the bread was soo good. Priced as a touristy dinner. It 's in line with other places we 've eaten in Bar Harbor, but a much better atmosphere."

"Best meal we 've had thus far in Bar Harbor. Everyone expects you to want seafood when in Maine but it can get a bit old when every restaurant sells pretty much only seafood. The chicken in tarragon sauce was delicious, mashed potatoes that were not dry, the clam chowder was better than the lobster bisque he had down the street according to my fiancé. The onion rings are so tasty and not those big thick gross ones but the nice thin crispy ones. Great service and atmosphere. Our waitress, Kristin, was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend trying the West Street Cafe, you won 't be disappointed."

"Arrived hungry, left full, and satisfied. The wing app was tasty, the chicken BLT delicious, the pub dip sandwich solid, and the fish tacos fabulous. We subbed a fresh crisp side salad for the fries for each meal, great tasty, healthy alternative. We cheated with a split of the chocolate stout cake with no regrets. The service (especially Barbara) was quick, efficient, and pleasant. We watched the women’s U.S. soccer team beat Germany on the personal TV at our booth! Great experience all around."

"We happened upon this place we're so glad we did! What a gem! We were finishing up a day at Bar Harbor Acadia N.P. We pressed the fork knife button on the rental car GPS and it brought up this restaurant. We were hungry and it was the closest. So we headed in that direction. When we arrived it was a little earlier than their 430pm posted open time, so we walked down to Seal Harbor beach for a bit. It was within walking distance. Our server was delightful, very sweet and attentive, refilling our water glasses multiple times. We ordered the seafood chowder and stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. They were a little slow coming out, but both were delicious! The amount of seafood in the broth was like nothing I'd ever seen before! I ordered the shrimp and scallop Juliet and my boyfriend ordered the broiled halibut. His came with asparagus and potatoes (at his request). I had a side salad included with my pasta dish. I wish I had taken photos of the entrees! The portions were fantastic! My dish had amazing flavor and was packed with so much seafood and vegetables that you could barely see the pasta! All and all, it was a lovely dining experience from start to finish. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

"Oh, my seafood, this place was delicious! We've been dining here by chance last minute when all the other places had to wait an hour. We could get a table in 20 minutes! The service was incredible! I look forward to the coconut yarn probably the best I ever had! The blueberry sauce was the perfect balance of sweet spicy! I also enjoyed the Black Fish Taco's Holy Mackerel! They were so dynamic in taste had the best flavors! My husband had the Clam-Chowder, based on the topics mentioned so far, you can think it was just as good! He said it? The best he could have had 2 3 bowls of just that for dinner! He also had the grilled shrimp, bacon avocado caesar salad. Everything was perfectly stupid!"

"It was my first time to visit Bar Harbor and your restaurant was the highlight of my day trip. I had a sad experience in the restaurant opposite you (SLP) and went out, but this is no longer important, as your restaurant was much more wonderful anyway and made itself to the previous heartbreaking experience! I'm so glad we moved here to eat! They have great employees, friendly and attentive and non-discriminatory workers, wonderful food and fast service, patients and hardworking people. The food is amazing and you all know how to take care of your customers. As a person who works in the hospitality sector, it was so nice to be treated and asked if we were happy and your staff guaranteed our satisfaction and I saw all other customers and other tables happy. None of you even knew what I and my friend went through in the other place. You all had real good people who were attentive and sweet and I thank you all for an almost sad day to the best day and my best experience in Bar Harbor. When we return, it's you that we will always come to and I told everyone about your great atmosphere and service! Like the great Maya Angelou said: People will forget what you said, people will forget what you have done, but people will never forget how you feel them."

"Total letdown. We stayed across the street in an Airbnb and after a long day of travel this place looked amazing. Sat on the patio. Menu looked good, drinks too! But it was a major letdown. Our server lost our slip so we waited almost 1 1/2 hours for dinner. She comped us dessert which we should have asked for a meal or drinks to be taken care of. All of the sides we got were terrible. Mac and cheese was buttered noodles that were cold. Brown butter fries were just cold frozen fries. Cornbread had no kick to it. Lobster rolls were so bleh. I got the sampler. They were all dry and just so nondiscript. My husband got the very unique surf and turf and it was terrible. Our free desserts were dry Whoopie pies that were ice cold and so dry they crumbled when you picked them up. This place could have some potential but it’s just pedestrian food. Bland. Cold. Lacked flavor and care. Bummer of a way to start the trip."
