"The most ridiculous experience I have EVER had in a coffee shop. Don’t come here unless you have 30+ minutes to spare. I was staying at the hotel and ran downstairs to “grab a quick coffee” while I waited for the restaurant to open. There was no line. I waited at the register for at least five minutes watching the employees putter around before they acknowledged us. We finally were able to order and we were informed that she had just finished the closing duties and we could no longer order anything until they opened for lunch. I explained we just wanted coffee and she allowed us to order and pay. Another fifteen minutes went by without my coffee. Then they beckoned me over to the counter and tried to give me someone else’s order. Still no coffee. At this point I asked for a refund as I had been there for over twenty minutes and the restaurant was opening for lunch. She refused and FINALLY made my order. She didn’t make the cappuccino I ordered correctly either, it was all milk and very little foam. The worst service I’ve ever received in a coffee shop, rude, slow, and disorganized. The employees need to be retrained or replaced!"

"I don’t hardly ever write a “review” of a place I’ve patronized, however after this “dining experience” I just felt it might help someone out there make a better informed decision about where they’re going to spend their time and money. My wife had heard about this place from some Facebook post and so we decided to go give it a try. I sometimes come pick her up at work and take her to lunch when I’m available. Otherwise, going out to eat for dinner is and always has been one of our favorite things to do. So we go to “Our Mom’s” yesterday, (Friday, May 17th), and arrive a little after 1 pm. Although we’re seated immediately (the restaurant wasn’t near full capacity), they put us in the booth all the way in the back. You know the one…it’s the booth that is literally AT the entrance to where the servers are constantly coming and going and, no kidding, is only a few feet away from the bathrooms. How appetizing. Seriously…the absolute worst seats in the house. Okay…no big deal…at least we were seated. And now we had the opportunity to see the other patrons as they came and went to the restrooms…After some deliberation, my wife requested the “Hawaiian” cheeseburger with a water and I chose the “Rockin’ Chicken Sandwich” at the recommendation of our waitress, along with a sweet tea. Well…my wife’s burger is bland and, aside from a single pineapple ring, nothing spectacular about this burger whatsoever. Unfortunately my “sweet tea” was the most horrible excuse for tea I’ve ever had (I only drank half a glass) (oh, and it’s $2.99 for a single glass of “sweet tea” here if you can believe that), and my chicken sandwich was a pitiful excuse for something made in anyone’s kitchen. The chicken is obviously previously frozen, but luckily it was then overcooked to the point of being just a hard, extremely crunchy tasteless piece of what was probably once a decent cut of chicken.I am known by my family and friends for being a generous tipper, sometimes to an extreme, so our young waitress wasn’t aware that my $7 tip was no where near what I typically leave for people who have worked hard at providing a quality dining experience for my family and I. However, $40 for THIS meal and atmosphere was way more than it was worth.To those out there contemplating where to take their family and friends to eat, maybe read some of the other reviews of this business. I don’t usually read reviews myself, I just prefer to give businesses a fair chance. Maybe I’ll start reading reviews going forward."

"I have been going to King Wok for a long time now, a fantastic Chinese restaurant in Baton Rouge run by Ann and her family. Supporting local businesses is important to me, and King Wok is definitely one of the best spots in town for your Chinese food cravings.The crab Rangoon was a standout dish for me, perfectly crispy with a deliciously savory cream cheese filling. The sweet dipping sauce complemented it perfectly, and I found it also paired well with their egg rolls.For the main course, I tried the general Tso chicken, which was fantastic. The chicken was perfectly fried and coated in a sweet and spicy sauce, served with broccoli. The fried rice was also excellent, a flavorful mix of egg, pork, carrots, and peas.One of my favorite items was the wonton egg drop soup, a comforting bowl filled with huge wontons and crispy fried wonton chips. It's a must-try.I also enjoyed the black bean chicken, cooked in a savory sauce with onion, carrots, bell peppers, mushrooms, and baby corn. Their lo mein was a great side dish, too.Their lunch special is such an amazing deal, and I was impressed by how fast they were with preparing the food. I always call ahead to place my order over the phone. I highly recommend King Wok for delicious Chinese food and excellent service."

"Where do i start?!? As soon as my family and i walked in the door we were treated as if we were going to a distant relatives house. It was warm, cozy, and very welcoming.
