"Staff are very kind and attentive and its a very pretty restaurant.My gf and I shared the roti w yellow curry sauce and chicken tom kha that was labelled vegan, it wasn’t vegan. I think we were meant to ask for the vegan option but I wish it was more clear on the menu if thats the case, we had assumed it’d be fake chicken. We ate it anyway it was pretty good. I liked the roti and yellow curry sauce better. The coconut thai tea was so very good."

"I had a delicious and satisfying meal at this restaurant. The NamNam sauce was amazing, but I recommend eating in-store because the freshness of the food is not as enjoyable when it gets cold. The fresh rolls lost their crunchiness and became chewy, and the Vietnamese baguette and shrimp started to smell unpleasant. Overall, I give it a rating of 4 out of 5. I think it will taste better when I visit the restaurant and get it warm and fresh."

"Seen this burger joint floating around HappyCow (locally) and wanted to give it a go. To my disappointment when I arrived, I found out it was just a rebrand of Veggie Grill. They're food is ok (VG) but I thought it was an independent restaurant. But to the food, I got their double burger and buffalo chikn. It's tasty BUT...the price point and size is my con. Just around the same size/price as Next Level Burger, so iykyk size price point don't meet. IMO, I'd rather pay the $2 extra (both burger and chikn sando) and go to Malibu's Burger in Oakland which is twice the size and filling. Which Stand-Up isn't (filling). A rare 3 star rating from me. "riceful onigiri is one of those places in berkeley that i wholeheartedly believe gets as much business as it does for two reasons: 1. cal dining halls suck and 2. riceful is conveniently located right across the street from one of said dining halls. that is not to say that riceful is bad... it's not. but i do believe that if we took away its gullible and desperate for edible food clientele, well... let's just say they would not have the audacity to price an onigiri at $10. ok food review time. b-tier: soft shell crab onigiri: i definitely enjoy the varying textures and flavors from this one. the crunchiness of the soft shell crab contrasts very well with the softness of the rice and other toppings, and there's a mixture of sweetness and savoriness. however, i found that it was pretty messy to eat, and towards the end, the crab got a bit soggy from the sauce and wasn't that great. c-tier: classic okinawa onigiri: definitely less complex in flavor and texture than the soft shell crab onigiri. everything felt kind of mushy and boring (could be my fault for picking up my snackpass order late, though . overall, while riceful definitely has some interesting flavors and a cool concept, i think it's pretty overhyped and overpriced. there are lots of great restaurants to try in berkeley, and i hope uc berkeley's students start giving those places a shot as well, rather than just sticking with something that's convenient."

"This was our second time at Donato because we wanted to give it a second shot. Our first experience was on Valentines day where they were having some issues due to it being a holiday and their system being down. That meant we ended up spending about 3 hours at Donato, mostly waiting and getting impatient for anything to come. This time around, we brought a friend to give it a second chance. It was a random Friday night with a reservation. Service was slow, the same as our first time around. It took around half an hour before they took our order. Took another hour for our food to come out, and we were handed a dessert menu before our last item was supposed to come. I say supposed to come because even though we ordered it, we were told that it was never put in and we wouldn 't be getting. I don 't understand why this place has such a high rating. The food is mediocre for how expensive it is, the service is slow, and it seems like the chefs are so backed up they can 't get food out at all in a timely manner. I really wanted to like this place considering it has such rave reviews on here, but it seems like the only people I see enjoying this spot are old white couples, so if you don 't look like you own multiple properties, maybe don 't come. This was our second and last time coming here."

"We moved to SF from the east bay many years ago so don't get to CP as often as we used to. We did go for dinner several months ago and were disappointed with a lackluster meal. But at the request of out of town guests we went back today for lunch and had the kind of meal that made this iconic place a longtime favorite. Every course we each had was fantastic....in creativity, presentation, and most of all flavor. Everything about our lunch was as good as it gets. Now we'll make a point of getting back there more often as few if any places in the City come close."

"This is a favorite restaurant, having had many wonderful meals over many years. It can get loud but was not on this occasion. Service provider seemed distracted a bit, running off in the midst of a conversation with us without explanation. The portabello fritters are a must and the lobster risotto is quite wonderful. Excellent deserts. The evening was special for us, unhurried, with lively guests and excellent food and wine."

"Ajanta is my favorite Indian Restaurant. The food is fantastic, the service is great and the unique decor with images frim the Ajanta caves is lovely. I've been goung to Ajanta for delicious food for over 20 years and have never had anything that wasn't top notch. Nor have I ever had any unpleasant experiences with the servers. It's the best."

"The reason i gave a one-star rating was due to all the sneezing, hacking while laughing, and excessive coughing i heard coming from the kitchen. You can hear the difference between someone who covers a sneeze as opposed to someone sneezing into the open air. It made it impossible to enjoy the food. I regret not canceling my order altogether, but i was on a date and didn't want to seem rude. I brought the sneezing and coughing to the attention of the server and asked if they wear masks in the kitchen. He said no, but they covered their mouths. He walked into the kitchen and said something, and then it got very silent. As we were leaving, the cook came out to the dining area and started picking his nose while looking at us. I will definitely be bringing this to the attention of the health department."

"I had the most amazing time to celebrate my cousin's birthday in Akemi! The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. We tried a variety of roles and sashimi, and everyone was better than the last. The service was exceptional to make great recommendations with our server and make sure that we had everything we needed to have an unforgettable evening. The restaurant itself is cozy and welcoming, with a beautiful atmosphere that made us feel at home. Overall, I cannot recommend Akemi enough, it is the perfect place for a special occasion or just a night with friends. We can't wait to come back!"

"Randomly picked this place for lunch and my group was so pleased! We ordered miso soup, salmon sashimi, lion king roll, and asemi rolls. They were all delicious, especially the lion king roll. "I love Korean food for the variety of flavors, except this place seem to put sugar in all the wrong places. The rooster sauce have sugar in it. I asked for version that it wasn't sweeten, and the guy brought me a different bottle of the same stuff.Several of the kimchi's were sweetened, kimchi's that shouldn't have sugar in them. The portions were sizable, but the flavor it's for muddy. For the price, it should have been superb."

"We ate it side on a lovely night. My friend and I shared the mushroom pizza, tomatoes and burrata salad, as well as the crab ravioli-all delicious. The only negative is that parking is a bit difficult. Will definitely return!"
