"I had a high opinion of Bar Boulud but on Valentine's Day I lost that opinion. I have dined here before and in three of the group’s restaurants in NYC. I have several of Mr. Boulud’s books and I cook from them. This Valentine’s Day was a total disappointment. My wife and I changed three tables until we were seated in a quiet and not frigid part of the room. The menu price was very expensive for a place with no tablecloths and mediocre service by waiters who could not speak English clearly to understand what they were telling you. I know the lack of tablecloths and I knew the price, but I had high hopes for the service and, especially, for the meal. The served food was fancifully presented. However, good packaging does not make the food great. My lobster risotto was prepared hours before, was overcooked and the lobster was mostly small pieces that were lost inside the mussy risotto. I cook risotto myself for 20 years and I have visited Italy extensively where even a neighborhood restaurant will cook the risotto when you order it. This is the reason the menu tells you that you have to wait 20 minutes. Apparently in Mr. Boulud’s Boston bar/“restaurant” the risotto is made in the morning and heated in the microwave before it is served. The Dover sole my wife ordered was three very dry small pieces of fish that occupied only 10% of the plate’s area, the rest occupied by fanciful pre-prepared side actors while the mail actor, the fish, was a disappointment. A menu designed to be prepared and presented even by untrained people to control costs. What a disappointment for such a special day."

"Have had amazing experiences in the past but owners not in tonight. They remade the antipasto platter for us which originally had canned giardiniera, off Italian meats and a couple pieces of mozzarella. Stuffed figs and Gorgonzola were ok, spaghetti and meatballs rubbery and flavorless and chicken Marsala was tender but tasted like beef broth soupy liquid under chicken. The young busser gal was slamming dirty dishes in the bus bucket all night and we had to ask her to quiet down as she was literally slamming everything. Kinda ruined our dinner experience. Bathrooms were absolutely GROSS and felt like we were at a dirty nightclub; do better please as we want to come back. Not the same experience as the last couple years. We go into the city for a good experience and have had better at the local Italian restaurant in southern NH. Merry Christmas"

"We visited La Summa on a weekday night and were seated by the window. The staff at the restaurant was extremely warm and welcoming. The restaurant was charming and the ambience was perfect for a date, with not too much noise. We started off with a pistacciocini which was a perfect cocktail for a summer evening. For the mains, we ordered the Manicotti and the shrimp pasta. Both the mains were good, but the marinara sauce in both could have been a little more flavourful. The portions were large and hence, we didn’t have much space left for dessert!"

"Be careful with the electronic thingy on your table! Great value for money, very good food, parking on site, service ok BUT there is a small electronic thing placed on each table where you can read the menu (in addition to the paper one). There is also a games section in the device. One of my boys played one of these for a few minutes. It was a general knowledge quiz that he did with my partner. We were surprised by a $3 charge on the bill... for the game!!!!!!! We checked with our waitress; no mention anywhere that it is paid. There should be a warning on the machine and from the waitress too!! Great way to make easy income! This would be illegal in Quebec! Unfortunately, I want to denounce this practice with my single star to warn future customers! Go ahead but leave the electronic gadget aside!!! Do not let yourself be fooled!"

"I am convinced that people who rate this food any higher than a 2 star obviously never had good soul food (n will most likely eat anything put in front of them). However, if you are used to good soul food THIS AINT IT!!! The so called Mac n cheese is awful, not sure what type of “cheese” they use but it’s not sharp cheddar or no creamy sauce… it’s the texture of scrambled eggs, just awful. The greens are even worse, BIG fat greens with no flavor, no love. My baked chicken was hard n definitely over cooked with no seasoning. You are better off cooking yourself. They will always be able to feed greedy people who are not used to great soul food, but picky people who know good food STAY AWAY!!! You been warned, their food is trash!!"

"I just had the kindest experience with Joe’s! I had ordered a steak and cheese for delivery, And an Uber eats driver claims they picked up my order and delivered it, but I never got it. Someone from Joe’s Called me to personally make sure I got the order, Which I didn’t. He quickly offered to remake the whole thing and had a new driver bring it to me. It was delicious. He made no money from this order now, But made sure I got my order, I will definitely be back! If you’re reading this review, please go support them! It was so good."

"I love this place. I visited on my first trip to Boston. It is filled with photos of historical figures and is rich is history itself. Yesterday after having landed on my trip from Boise Idaho I was a bit hangry and tired. We stopped in for some delicious espresso martini’s and ended up also have a cup of their incredible clam chowder. I love the atmosphere, food and service. It’s a must visit."

"We visited this pub a few days ago. We wanted to sit outside but there were no seats. The waitress said we could have a drink in the bar and she would call us when a table was ready which would be about 10 minutes. We drank our drinks and nothing happened and so we left. On leaving the premises we found that all of the tables apart from one was free. The girl who served us with the drinks also knew we were waiting because she gave us the drinks in plastic cups. Not satisfied with the service"

"We were looking for a quick dinner after arriving at Logan airport from a long trip, we found this gem. We didn't have a reservation, were seated right away but we definitely recommended it. As soon as I opened the door, the aroma from all the spices were incredible. The food was incredible, service was very prompt. The lamb coconut curry dish was amazing, it was nice and hot, the garlic and onion naan and the mango lassi were good. We were seated in front of the window and it was just a beautiful feeling. I would say it's a tight place but there is plenty of space, a very cozy restaurant, the chairs were a bit uncomfortable but suitable. The atmosphere was very peaceful, relaxing, everyone enjoying the moment. I can't wait to come back."

However, he failed to mention that the price I mentioned was for a half bottle, leading to me being charged double the expected price. Additionally, when leaving the restaurant, no one said goodbye, and there was no one at the host desk."
