"First time at Shinsen and we plan to come back. Many interesting items on the menu to try and everything we tried was excellent. Service was good but timing of food delivery could have been better. Overall service was slow so plan on over an hour for dinner for two. Not sure but delay may have been in the preparation not delivery of the food. Ladt item we received was the crispy spring roll (I think this was the name) which we would have expected to be the first item (appetizer) served One other note could not find a link to a menu either through Open Table or Shinsen website Regardless try it for the great food"

"One word: Arepas. I'd never had arepas before but the friendly and attentive order-person-server suggested them. I can't imagine a more perfect brunch- breakfast arepas with eggs, cheese and brisket and a passion fruit mimosa. I can't wait to try everything else on the menu!"

"First time at Soban, but many many Korean restaurants around the entire Chicago area. My standard first time item is (yuk guy Jeng) Yukgaejang, which is a spicy soup with shredded beef, green onions and green bean sprouts with glass noodles. It is hot and spicy, and it helps me determine if the food is authentic. My wife always eats the Dolsot Bibimbap, rice crispy in a stone bowl and cooked veggies and a fried egg, and a selection of different meats,shrimp, tofu, etc. Both dishes were outstanding and served hot and delicious. I ordered both dishes before the waitress brought the menus, but she came back to the table the make sure I knew my dish was hot and spicy. Maybe this white guy doesn’t know what he’s ordering, ? I thought it was funny. When the food was brought out they didn’t think we wanted the Kimchi, so I did ask for the Kimchi. Maybe they get a lot people who don’t know Korean food? We will return to this quant little restaurant in Evanston."

"Usually I'm not a fan of Starbucks, but this is unlike others I've been to. The people who work here are incredibly friendly and know the regular customers. There aren't many places to sit, but the atmosphere is like an old-school community place, like what you hear about how businesses used to be in small towns or whatever. I've been by here several times but didn't bother to go in until today when I met up with someone. I'll be back."

"Whoever is in charge needs to check this store, I asked for a milkshake and they straight up just say we don 't have. no explainations, no alternate suggestions, they just didn 't want to take the time to make the milkshake.the ice cream is there, the blender is there, the fridge with what I assume has the milk is there(and they are right beside a grocery[valli] store too, just in case) , and clearly power is not out. last time I went there they made it and I could see some of the staff shaking their head like no no perhaps they didn 't want people to expect their milkshakes to be available and the guy messed up by actually accepting the order. Something is wrong here."

"Thanks Pizza Hut stuck here in Evanston do to snow storm. They delivered it to the truck stop I am at and this pizza hut knows drivers needs. Gave us plates napkins parmesean cheese pepper flakes. Great pizzas was hot and yummy!"

"As Uruguayan this place is like heaven . Really really good ice cream. The only thing that I can not stand is that as an Argentinian brand they do not do samples. Really? We both know that in our country we give a lot of samples for people to choose ice cream correctly. Must improve."

"Dave’s new kitchen is a small cozy place, with delicious food! The server was very likable and helpful. Took his suggestion and ordered the ravioli with Rose sauce: amazing taste! Definitely recommend this sauce with whatever you’d like to eat. The bread was fresh! Nice wine. The food came out very fast! Be careful as this small restaurant so close to the campus may get filled quickly in busy hours."

"I'm not sure how long the fries are sitting there. They always scoop them up from a paper container that looks like should have be thrown out hours ago. I asked for hot, fresh fries once and there was chatter amongst employees. Then two sets of eyeballs located me. Fries are usually decent when they are made to order. I haven't ordered Anything else on the menu in over 10 years."

"I wish I could give this place a 6/5 , Philz has become a part of my personality haha. I used to come here throughout the school 3-4 times per week using my part-time paychecks to cover my Philz coffee.. Service is always great, and I get super excited when I see my favorite baristas are working (I'm sorry if I got your guys' names wrong but Edward and Ryan are my favorites)! If you don't like how your drink was made or you'd like it altered they're always so happy to oblige. The interior is cute and much more homey than other coffee chains that I've visited, and while I infrequently stay in to do work (I just get distracted easily), it's definitely a great environment to sit down and get some work done. Another tip, if you just want to pick up, download and use their app to time your pickup! And make sure to tip the baristas :)Here are my favorite coffee recommendations (I usually get it House Way): Philtered Soul, Soul Train (off-menu), Oatmeal Cookie (also off-menu, recommend oat milk with this), Mocha Tesora, New Manhattan, and while it's only a seasonal drink, I really love the Winter Bliss and I hope it comes back soon... Go and check Philz out guys!"

"I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. I enjoyed a vegetarian omelet with protein, accompanied by a fresh fruit salad. Both the dessert and the fruit were delicious and very fresh. The coffee was incredibly fresh as well, and they made sure to keep it coming, which is important for any coffee lover. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was very friendly and made a wonderful mimosa. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can enjoy their terrace. My overall experience was exceptional, largely thanks to the owner's amazing energy and presence. I’m definitely planning to return! ❤️"
