"I had a business meeting scheduled for lunch at The Wholesome Tortilla in downtown Goshen IN. A remote-working friend found out, and asked if I would like to travel to Goshen early to work from a café — and we spent a couple hours or so at Embassy Coffee on Main St., across from the novel burger joint, Biebs Ash. Embassy has a very open, modern space with plenty of outlets for plugging in and working remotely. While there, my friend had a cortado and I had a pour-over ... followed with a cortado. My pour-over was great, and it was from a coffee grown in Ethiopia, I believe. My cortado was also great — on the same level. *A cortado is a beverage consisting of espresso mixed with a roughly equal amount of warm milk to reduce the acidity. The milk in a cortado is steamed, but not frothy and texturized as in many Italian drinks. The cortado comes from Spain, but my first one, personally, was during a December 2017 visit to Viejo San Juan (Old San Juan), Puerto Rico. Again, the space of Embassy was refreshing for small town Midwest, and the service was more-then-great. As I was gettin ' ready to leave, Embassy was quite busy, with plenty of plates going out of their kitchen — with variations of avocado toast being the most prevalent. Zero complaints! I 'd love to go back. Before I left, I briefly chatted with the barista who seemed to be running circles, and she stated that she normally works at Sway Coffee in South Bend, but was asked to train and manage at Embassy. So, I assume there is some crossover as far as ownership between Sway and Embassy. She was wonderful and easy to talk to. Again, I will definitely go back — it was a great place to work remotely, especially in the early morning before it got busy. ...but cheers to them for getting so busy!"
