"MacKenzie River is a locally-owned, regional chain maybe a slight step up from Applebee's, T.G.I. Fridays or Red Robin. This particular location has some fun, Montana-themed decor (a forest you can dine in, boat hanging from the ceiling, etc). The food is solid and service is usually friendly. That being said, the service is often slow as molasses. Frequently it takes an hour and a half to get out of there and a good 40 minutes of that is without any food. Sometimes it seems like staffing troubles, understandably the area does struggle to keep up with demand during tourist season. But other times it just seems like no one taught them to giddy-up. I am pretty sure they are one of lowest paying restaurants for their staff in the area. Honestly, if they could figure out the service speed problem, I would consider going more. But it has been about 3 years where I have gone multiple times and the speed hasn't changed. My wife is gluten-free and has had some difficulty in the past ordering items that were supposed to be gluten-free, but were not. This location is better than the South Kalispell location in decor and possibly service speed according to some locals, though it wasn't significantly noticeable to me. The Whitefish location is decent. You can DoorDash their food and I haven't had any problems with that. Parking: Plenty of parking in a dedicated parking lot."

"we visited montana on vacation and tried jagz on Tuesday. the waitress was hailey and she was amazing. returned on Thursday. were there before our reservation time, but waited 20 minutes more about our reservation time. After we had waited for an hour and ten minutes to eat, we wanted to ask if we could only pay for our appetizers and drinks. the waitress pointed out to our eating, sitting in the window and saying that you are eating. my man told her we can't wait any longer and have to go, we could do it. She said we're training in the kitchen today. with a slight adjustment and no apology. it should be noted that there were four in the kitchen. the kerl came here to hand over to my man the credit card machine, and my man asked him if we got a discount, since all this was such a mess. he just said no. we went and called to talk to a manager. She first said with a attitude that she had told us the problem and she wasn't sure what we wanted her to do about it. when we told her we wanted to at least one partial discount for our hardships, she said she had to call the chief manager who was from the city. drove five minutes to get to the place where we were and our food was hardly warm. they called me back and told me, since we were away with our food, they couldn't give a refund of any kind. eating was just okay, but expensive. $100 for a family of four with three of these meals are cheeseburger. the attitude of the employees we met was not bad. we understand that the things happen, but being rude to the customer is never okay. we shouldn't have asked for a discount, it should have been offered. we could have just walked out and not even paid, but we wanted to do the right thing. most of my family members have previously worked in food service and have never seen anything that is very close to it. beyond disappointment and we will never come again when we are in the opposite."
