"My wife and I stayed near the Stadtwald for several days and explored the dining options on Dürener Straße throughout. Hans im Glück caught our attention with its modern, funky decor and the crowd of people visible through the mostly glass shop front. Having eaten almost exclusively German cuisine throughout our vacation, we rationalized that a return to American food might be a welcome token of familiarity, and I am pleased to say that Hans im Glück did not disappoint.The interior design might not be for everyone, with chipboard-like flooring, felt mats on the tables and benches, and slender birch trunks demarcating booths, windows, and walkways, but we thought it unique and engaging. The raw, natural decor underscored the stated intent of providing food from simple, quality ingredients, and the casual dress of the wait staff made the experience feel unpretentious and welcoming. The view from our upstairs booth near the windows gave a nice panorama of the intersection below.While the beef portion in a standard burger left something to be desired for my American appetite, the presentation and taste were excellent. This is far from the greasy fare that one might expect from a burger restaurant. I would judge the meal options a good value for the money, with extensive options for customization. As we left, I distinctly wished for more time in Köln, so that I could eat here again. Highly recommended."

"The food deserves 5 stars, all I remember from the Costa Brava, including 50 fish dishes, lots of garlic; no fast restaurant, so much time! 2. Sound-sucking, because wavy plaster paneling on walls and ceilings pleasantly damped conversations calm background music also earn 5 stars. 3. warm white lighting and current wine-seed decoration pleasantly tremble, ceiling lighting nevertheless so bright that you can see exactly what is on the plate. 4. "Came here after getting fed up with the crowds at the Christmas market. Daughter had tuna which was cooked rare and really yummy. Husband had lentil soup and veggie tarte flambé (thin pizza). Both delightful. I had the ox tail ravioli tasty but pasta too thick. Service was friendly and portions huge. Very popular place we didn’t have a reservation but they squeezed us in as long as we committed to eat fast to make way for a reservation later."

"Our meal was going really well, the sushi was fine, even if there were some non-traditional combinations. Until we were charged for the most expensive glass of tap water we've ever had...We ordered two sushi platters with a beer and a glass of water. We could see into the bar as we were seated at the back of the restaurant. We witnessed the staff pour water from a filtered jug into a glass and bring it to our table along with the beer. No problems there... Everything was fine, until the bill came and we had been charged €3.80 for the water (the beer was €2.70). When we questioned it, the waiter walked over the fridge and showed us a bottle of still water, then showed us the menu where it stated that 0,4l of soft drinks cost €3.80... Unfortunately we had already paid at this point as we hadn't realised what had happened until after he walked away with our cash. We left very disappointed as our meal had been fine up to that point."

"We stayed in Dellbrueck as our main base for exploring Christmas markets in the area. We wanted to walk to dinner one night and came across Brauhaus Dellbrueck. There are daily specials, and that Wednesday, it was Schnitzel Night so it was packed! The friendly...manager spoke English though and immediately found us a table. For Euros, we got a Schnitzel with fries and salad plus a dessert of ice cream with a cherry compote. Definitely go here if you're looking for a casual pub meal"

"I visited this restaurant (top floor) professionally, we chose the place for the super positive comments. I have to say that our experience was not at all positive. The service is terrible, I had a situation where the waiter didn´t want to serve me the...wine, and he wanted me to change glasses with another person at the table, because he already have a glass with wine at the temperature I wanted. I never had a situation like this. One of the people in our table ordered a specific whiskey, the waiter brought a completely different one, and didn't even ask if he wanted a different one, it just served and hoped we wouldn't notice the difference. Very poor side dishes, without flavor. What saved the night was the meat. I do not recommend!"

"I'm sorry, but a star has to be deducted because the waiting time is inappropriate. We're always here with 20 40 people, and who ordered first waits two hours and who ordered last waits 10 minutes? Kind of weird... But the food is sooooooooooooo good that you forget: you can hardly decide which Latin American/Peruan speciality is the most delicious: the chicken in bananas mandarin sauce? The lemon fish? The roasted Yucca? The Tortillawraps? The most tasty to drink is definitely the Mora exotic blackberry juice ice-cooled. Every day there is 18 20:00 Happy Hour for all cocktails and a Happy Day cocktail. People are very beautiful and also the waiters have been roasted with either bag-free or twice the part of the fruit juice. I know what's best: the appetizer! Fresh American bread with self-made dip in red. (Like Cockjtaiulsoße and tomatoes, only more delicious!"

"We had a lovely meal here end October 2017 on my Birthday. The food was absolutely super and although I dojn;t eat Steak very often was one of the nicest I 've ever had. The service likewise was very good. My only (and slight) criticism is that as it is all open plan it can be noisy great atmosphere but perhaps not so perfect if you want a quiet romantic night out as there are no 'corners ' to hide in in the restaurant. One thing to note, it can be pricey, but if you join their membership scheme you get all kinds of offers do take andvatage of them, we used the BOGOF offer they send for your Birtrhday (valid for up to two weeks after it). A three course sirloin steak meal with a drink each for two cameto nearly 80 quiod, but with the offer was £38 (exc tip) for two so that was great value for what we had. I would go again"

"Mein lieblings Restaurant in Köln. Ich finde das Design fantastisch und wirklich sehr gemütlich. Interessant das es hier gelegentlich auch Livemusik gibt (DJ . Und hier probiere ich mich auch gerne durch die Karte. Ich habe hier noch nichts gegessen das nicht sehr gut geschmeckt hätte. Sehr empfehlenswert. Das Personal war bisher immer sehr freundlich. Ein kleiner Punktabzug: Es ist keine Kartenzahlung möglich. Wenn da nachgerüstet wird, geb ich auch gerne noch den fünften Stern. : UPDATE 2023: Neuer Besitzer. Ansonsten hat das Restaurant seinen tollen Look behalten. Genauso wie die richtig gute Speisekarte. Kartenzahlung ist ebenfalls endlich möglich! Sehr gut. Den letzten Stern behalte ich dennoch erstmal zurück. Nach Durchsicht der Fotos der letzten 2,5 Jahre, ist leider aufgefallen, dass die Gläser (z.B. für Hugo geschrumpft sind. Aber nicht günstiger wurden. Schade. Wäre schön, wenn hier nochmal an den Stellschrauben gedreht würde. Danke! UPDATE 2024 Leider mussten wir feststellen, dass unsere Lieblings-Gerichte (wegen denen wir meisten hier hin gegangen sind mit Ziegenkäse von der Karte genommen wurden. Schade!"
