"My first visit to Clive’s may not be as positive as I had hoped but it is not preventing me from delivering a fair review. I appreciated the fact that our party of 6 was seated immediately to a large, socially distanced table in an area with a comfortable ambiance. And treated by a friendly staff I was ready for a beer and the server ran through the list of beers with a member of our party. I requested a non IPA craft beer as I was not in my home state and was unfamiliar with the local beers. The server simply repeated the list of available tap beers at a speed that left me only recognizing the words Coors Lite and Blue Moon. Disappointingly, he stated he would repeat the list once everyone who wanted beer was ready to listen. I had hoped for a recommendation yet instead I had to visit the bar to read the names off of the Taps. The server obviously not familiar or confident enough to recommend a beer. Our orders were placed and did not take long to receive with the exception of one chicken sandwich. We had to wait only a few more minutes for it to arrive. I ordered a roast beef dip sandwich. The au jus had no beef flavor rather it resembled and tasted like olive oil but with less flavor. It neither enhanced nor detracted from the rather plain flavor of the beef. Yes, I was disappointed. With only one, perhaps two, exceptions, the other meals were tasty and well received. But how can you mess up 2 burgers and a lettuce wrap? The giant burrito was HUGE! It was set on a plate of nachos making cutting the burrito more difficult but not impossible. It was expected the burrito would have a nice mix of flavors enhanced by seasoning and/or sauces. However, i was told it tasted like the inside looked. Fillings with no seasoning or sauces. While I may not make Clive’s a first choice at my next visit, 50% of my party were very satisfied and would likely request eating at Clive’s again, thus I am providing them with a 4 star review. Would 3 be appropriate? Possibly but the truth is, we all ate our entire meal. I may try a burger next time, if there is a next time."

"We got to our hotel and decided to walk over to this restaurant. Some of us flew in so not everyone had a car available. I walked in and asked if they could accommodate 12 people. I asked, did not say seat us, asked. I got the most god awful looks. No smiles, no let me check, just everyone working there standing around talking to each other. Finally one server must have drawn the short straw because he got menus and said follow me. Ok so I guess you can seat us cool. They push the table together and give us some menus, some, but not enough for everyone. The server asked if it was all on one ticket or separate. We said separate and he got irritated and said “it was going to be busy later and it would be hard for him to separate the checks. What? I’ve never heard anyone say this before. A lot of our kids have been servers so we always try to be kind and tip well, but never ever have we been told this by a server. Finally my husband said forget it just one check, the server just kept on about his busy it was going to get. He wasn’t listening just talking. Making us feel like he didn’t want to serve us. Finally he listened to my husband say just put it on one check. The server left and a new server came. She half listened to our orders, a few came out completely wrong, but we just ate it and tried very hard to not cause issues. They rarely came and checked on us, and the service was super unfriendly. The food was good, it just sucks that we were treated that way, had they said they couldnt seat 12 of us we could have just split up. Also it never got busier by the way. ??‍ Welcome to Lino Lakes lol"
