"We were in Ashville for a wedding, and my husband decided to take me to this restaurant because my favorite food is Mexican. I had to laugh because our server was the epitome of the tiktoks I see on what an Ashville server is like. There was no explanation of the menu or how things came. I wanted 2 street tacos with ground beef and all the fixins. There was confusion around the sauces, again, which could have been a non issue if there was an explanation on how the menu worked. We were encouraged to buy a flight or trio of sauces to try them out. I just wanted 2 tacos with salsa. The menu was confusing as it did not show that they came with salsa or pico. The server brought me a tablespoon of salsa and a tablespoon of pico on the side for my two street tacos. I know everyone's taste buds are different, but the ground beef was not seasoned well at all. It was mainly salt with a little bit of a chili powder taste. The street tacos were on ONE corn tortilla. My experience, everywhere else in the world, is that street tacos come with 2 corn tortillas. The taco was so hard to eat I ended up dumping the inside on top of the beans and rice so I could eat it with a fork. Unfortunately, the beans were not cooked or properly seasoned either. I was very disappointed in the lack of service, flavor of the food, and the inability to eat the taco with one flimsy tortilla that fell apart before I could finish. They only had a craft vodka, but that was fine. They could not make martinis, but the vodka soda I ordered was absolutely delicious and made very well. All in all, not a good Mexican food experience, but the atmosphere and drinks were nice. We went back to the hotel and ate food we brought for the trip."

"My wife and I had never been to Asheville, NC, but heard the food scene was spectacular. We were not disappointed… Our Uber driver recommended a few places and Zambra was at the top of their list. Talk about being spot on… we had one of the best meals we have had in a very long time. The menu was filled with something for everyone and we had a hard time narrowing down or selections because we wanted to try everything. We grabbed the coveted “confessional” spot at the bar. It was a nice cozy place where a wonderful person named Lisa took care of us that evening. She was very friendly and helped us make our selections. Her service was impeccable and really completed our evening. Here’s what we ordered complete with pictures: Chilled Corn and Tarragon Soup. Crème Fraiche, Tarragon Oil and Lump Crab. Pomegranate Braised Pork Spring Rolls. Avocado, Cashew Chili Crisp, Mango Mojo. Lamb Albondigas. Tunisian Tomato Sauce, Chickpea and Cucumber Salad, Crumbled Feta, Pistachio. Charred Cauliflower. Spicy Romesco, Salsa Verde, Sunflower Seeds. House Gnocchi Basil, Arugula and Pine Nut Pesto, Sweet Potato, Radish, Capricorn De Cabra and Goat Cheese. And for dessert: Peanut Butter Brownie Peanut Butter Mousse, Toasted Cashew, House Made Bourbon Ice Cream. If we ever visit Asheville again, we would certainly visit this fantastic restaurant again. Thank you for making our trip very enjoyable!"

"It was fathers day and the day our daughter graduated from high school so we went to try somewhere new to celebrate. It started the moment we walked in the door. Hostess asks how many and when we reply with 9 she rolls her eyes and says follow me. We ordered some appetizers, they were good but our dinner, not so much. The Alfredo tasted bland, no real flavor to speak of. Just a thick heavy creamy tasteless blob. Vodka sauce was unlike a sauce but more like a sun dried tomato paste, not like any vodka sauce I have had before. Chicken Piccatta was also bland with no real flavor, and the chicken had a real funny texture. My daughter ended up after a few bites throwing it up in the bathroom. I ordered the sausage peppers and onions and that was quite good. Our desserts, cheese cake and the chocolate amaretto bread pudding both were freezer burnt. Our server, her performance was exceptional but she really did not seem thrilled to be there. I really hate leaving negative reviews but If this was my restaurant I sure would want to know what a new customers experience was like. So if you asked me if we would go back, I would say no probably not. Edited: Thank you for the response and thank you for pointing out all that I could have done for a better experience. First off when I looked you up on google it said no reservations needed. When we arrived there was no other patrons in the restaurant, we briefly had it all to ourselves. Second, my daughter was embarrassed, she didn’t say anything until we got in the car. She said it wasn’t like the chicken was bad, it just had a funky texture. Third. And I do not stand alone with this . Bland, The food was bland. Flavorless. Not lacking salt or black pepper but spices. You know the talent of a chef. This is not our first rodeo and we know how an Alfredo dish, paccatta or vodka sauce, traditionally tastes. Sorry for the couple week delay."
