"During our family trip to the Nordhorn Animal Park, of course, the obligatory coffee and cake break had to be re-entered and, as with the animal park in itself, I did not promise too much about it, because the gastronomy in such places (zoos, animal in general amusement parks etc. is usually not necessarily characterized by quality, but rather by the prices invoked. And what should I say? It's wrong again! Two serious misjudges within an hour, I seem to be getting old... In addition to one or two smaller snacks, where my expectation would probably have been confirmed, there is the De Mallejan inn on the Tierpark grounds. The inn is integrated into the farm area of the animal park, which seems to be a formerly managed farm (I don't know, but so was my impression that the old brick shelves buildings look partly as if they had a few years more on the hump. The old charm was preserved very well. And if all this is unpredictable is not original, but has been rebuilt, then there was a 1A job done. Chapeau! I liked the whole atmosphere great! And I am really everything but a guy who has ever dreamed of a life on the farm rather the opposite! At absolute Kaiserweather we took a table outside for four (for the beloved family dog a bowl of water was ready, which was also filled during our visit, strong! , the wooden chairs were not the most comfortable ones I have ever sat on, but for a relaxing break of 30 minutes or so you keep it wonderful. There are a bunch of seats outside and on the first real spring day of the year many were occupied. I shot the photos when there was a short time less going. Until the service lady was with us, it took some time, but it really had all the hands to do. Nevertheless, she did not lose her typical North German dry humour, which was very impressive and pleasant to me. Our order consisted of two puppets of coffee, a cocoa, a barrel shower (unfortunately not my favorite cakes and four pieces of cake, once apple and three times peasant cake (on demand the chocolate cake was with cherries, however, it had to be tasted first, if there were three pieces at all. In addition to the great humour, the service lady was also a bit spoiled. Zero problem, I like it! This has all tasted very well and I say that as someone who completely ignores cakes and the like. But this one was good! Admittedly, I've seen bigger pieces of cake than that on my plate, but that's right. We have paid for all that around 25€, which, as I think, is quite right for a very appealing zoo gastronomy. I was surprised by the great selection of 'real dishes', so what one would get so tired in the restaurant. Here you can also find Steak and Burger (for an animal park also perfectly fine prices. I didn't expect that. The stay at the De Mallejan inn is additionally enhanced by the fact that one has a beautiful view of the carnivals running past and, of course, the animals kept on the farm animal park can also see, but can usually hear. The goats and, above all, the Poitou donkeys make a proper alarm and in between you hear the rattle of the storks from their nest tree, which is not far away. This creates a great atmosphere. The many lamenting children running around are more disturbing because I was so annoying (which I absolutely doubt! be forgiven. Exceptionally. ; For my first and certainly not last visit, I would forgive five stars, with small marks I liked it very well. But since I don't know the indoor area, which is supposed to be very appealing to my parents, I'm going to leave my room to the top and forget the fast-best rating : Four superb stars and an increase at some point I would bet at any time. I'd love to come back!"
