"Truth time: I had never heard of Elliott 's Off Broadway Deli until I visited Oak Brook Center and noticed it was listed among the restaurants in the mall. Actually, Elliott 's is located in the lower level of the professional building. But I was interested to learn that Elliott 's has other franchise delis in Downers Grove, Itasca, Naperville, Skokie, Schaumburg, Rolling Meadows and Morton Grove. And there are three outlets in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. What a discovery. While Elliott 's is open from breakfast through lunch, dinner and beyond, It 's a great place to stop for a quick luncheon break while shopping in Oak Brook Center. And the menu of sandwiches is superb. The hot corned beef on rye is a conventional and traditional staple, nothing fancy or imaginative or creative, but it 's just wholesome and downright tasty. So are the turkey on wheat, ham on light rye, roast beef on rye and tuna salad on wheat. But Elliott 's makes its reputation as home of the Monster Sub so you 've got to try it--the Italian sub with ham, salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil and spice and everything nice. It 's enough to take home with you. Other top-of-the-line sandwiches are the Italian beef, Philly cheese, barbecue chicken and the Sicilian Panini with its salami, ham, provolone, bell peppers and onions. If you are in a hurry in the morning, you might opt for an egg and bagel or an omelet for breakfast. But it doesn 't beat a hot corned beef sandwich on rye for lunch."
