"I have been trying to get the man to take me to Sybill 's for over two year on a date-night. I have been for work events and such and wanted a date here. I finally got my wish. The ambiance of this place never disappoints; it has the feel of an old mansion converted to an upscale restaurant, where all are welcome (not the actual history). Every room has a different vibe, but you feel at home no matter where you are seated. It 's crammed with art and charm, most of which is always for sale. Our appetizer (maple dijon bacon wrapped shrimp) was heavenly. I joked about wanting to take the sauce home to put on some biscuits. I highly recommend this menu item! We waited quite a while for our entrees and started to wonder what was happening, but then they came out. This is the sad part of the review; our entrees weren 't as expected. Everything was beautifully plated and looked good, however; there was a mishap (nothing unsanitary). Don 't stop reading...here comes the best part! We told our waiter how we felt about our entrees, at which point he went for the manager . No manager came, who came was Sybill herself. She didn 't tell us who she was, I just know from past experiences. She went so far past above and beyond to make things right, I actually teared up a little. We offered to still pay, she wouldn 't have it. We begged to at least pay for our appetizer that we devoured with delight, she wasn 't having that either. She insisted we have dessert on the house, we accepted dessert only if we could pay, this she allowed. Don 't tell anyone (she says in a public review), but I hear the coconut cream pie is better than someone 's southern mama 's, and that is a 10/10. The night ended with a heart felt thank you from Sybill for our honestly and not leaving without informing her of our experience. She asked us to please come back and try again, which we will. I end with this: Every restaurant will have a bad plate here and there. Few restaurants will make you want to come back when they do. Almost no restaurant makes me want to write a review giving it 5 stars when my food isn 't perfect! That 's bigger than a plate of food."
