"The Kaffeehalle is one of the finest Bäckerei/Konditorei in Solothurn. A café, bakery and pastry shop, they have a wide selection of baked goods, including morning breads and rolls, sweet treats such as pastries and deserts. For breakfast, you can also get cheeses and meats such as prosciutto (Rohschinken), fruit and Birchermuesli. The breakfast highlight for me is what I think are the best Gipfeli in town. There are several other cafes in Solothurn with excellent croissants (you can hardly go wrong here), but I like these the best they have just the right amount of crispiness. I also really like the Muesli and the Weggli (soft rolls). In addition to breakfast, Kaffeehalle has sandwiches and cheese tarts (not sweet very good), quiche, Swiss specialties, and serves lunch. The food is quite nice, and the service is usually good very efficient. With nice weather, you can sit outside and watch the world go by. Inside at the back, the ceiling is glass, so it gives a very nice garden like atmosphere as well. The Kaffeehalle is always my first stop in the morning when I travel to Solothurn. I order a cappuccino and ... what else ... a Gipfeli."
