"I'll preface this review with how disappointed we were at our experience at Four Seasons Trattoria. We are locals who support Cape Cod's establishments year round, especially in the off season and to have had such a negative experience at Four Seasons is really too bad for the business and the staff who work there. Honestly, the meal was great! There isn't a bad thing to be said about our meals which in our party of 4, included Veal Romano x2, Risotto, and Eggplant Parm. From the moment we walked in we felt like we were a complete imposition to the owner/manager. We had dinner reservations for 6:00pm, so it wasn't like we just walked in at the busy time of night. Our table wasn't ready, which was fine, but the attitude from the owner/manager was negative and obvious he was put out with our presence. We were seated after a few minutes and the waiter greeted us in a friendly manner, however, he appeared to be quite flustered. We were asked if we preferred tap or sparking water for which we all ordered tap and were promptly served. Next we were asked for our drink order; 3 martinis and a glass of white wine. The martinis were delivered but not the glass of wine. I tried to mention the missing glass of wine, but was interrupted for our dinner order. Once all orders were placed we mentioned there was a missing glass of wine and the waiter had to find the note on his pad thinking we had not ordered the wine. He did apologize for the error and returned with the wine. The bread was served next, which in my opinion was over done, but nonetheless tasty with the oil and herbs. Our meals promptly arrived by one of the owner/managers and the waiter's helper and the waiter made his way to our table to ask if we cared for fresh parmesan cheese. All of us said yes, and he promptly served us. The meal was delicious, no complaints about anyone at the table about their meal. However, the waiter never returned to our table, nor anyone working on the floor to inquire about our meals. The waiter was very busy, perhaps overloaded with tables and was clearly flustered and having a difficult time. The waiter's helper returned to our table at the end of our meal to clear our dishes. Our waiter returned with dessert menus and asked if we cared for an after dinner drink or coffee. We split two desserts; cheesecake and carrot cake with hot coffee for one and cappuccino for the other three. The dessert was served with a rendition of Happy Birthday as it was on in the group's birthday that day! Up to this point it has been a lovely evening despite the attitude of the owner/manager when we were greeted and the little glitches during our meal which we all were happy to overlook. The bill arrives and was paid by one of the members of the group for our party of four. As we are finishing our coffee, the owner/manager approaches our table with the paid bill and very rudely and with attitude states there is a mistake, you have misread the bill's total. You have not tipped the waiter enough and I make sure the waiters are taken care of in my restaurant. The party paying the bill reviews the balance and tip and very cordially states to the owner/manager, no, I've provided an appropriate tip; a generous tip at that, based on the service this evening. The owner/manager became quite upset and very rudely berated the individual who paid the bill stating if he wasn't going to tip a larger amount he does not want to ever see him back in his restaurant again. We all promptly got up from the table and said to the owner/manager, not to worry, we have not intention of ever coming back your restaurant."
