"As a southern German, I know brewhouses most from the Bavarian area. At first, here in Duisburg, near the impressive Walsumer power plant (even in the shade of it) I was able to find a very nice, original, well-visited brewhouse. My local relatives swear to it, they like to come here for family celebrations and small festivities, especially as there is a separate, somewhat quieter space where one is completely under. Otherwise, quite a lot of remmidemmi and a murder operation are announced in the spacious main room, whose “side arms” go over half floors. The place is extremely popular, which can be seen at the magnificent parking lot on the street side. Despite the considerable alcohol offer, all visitors seem to come by car here (although I don't know if you could travel with Öffis). On the way to the restaurant, which, by the way, has a very nice and tastefully designed outdoor area, where you can definitely eat and drink in nice weather, by the way you pass the local Sinalco factory. Something new! We stayed at a normal day of the week at about 7 p.m. Since we had not reserved, we initially stood around a bit lost, because the place was full to the top, even a hollowed wine barrel was occupied. The brewhouse is very nicely furnished, with wooden furniture trimmed on old and rustic, stone floor, glossy polished brass breams, somewhat wrought-iron jewelry and magnificent accessories. Here, by the way, hand roasted natural beer specialties are announced! You can put them in giant syphons and drag them home. However, I recommend the consumption on site. It is a giant armada of service workers in cowardly dirndln or carded shirts on the go, extremely flashy and busy and constantly swinging around. Soon we were discovered and destined to the counter where we should wait for a table to be released. Not necessarily cozy, but a good lookout for the first. The service lady responsible for us was quite resolute and had a research tone, but she acted absolutely reliable! After a short waiting period we had a table, but only a half-high with bar stools. Still nice! The table had an all-round cowl, apparently, so that the spilled beer could run there.... The study of the menu required a great time: here a large range of fish (at the moment mainly shells, which feels here every second ordered), very defensive meat dishes, very much with roast potatoes as a supplement, various salad offers, various pre- and intermediate dishes (of which we later tell), dishes for kids and of course desserts. We made the mistake and ordered a soup in front. The saturated already considerably. Never before gouted I had a must cream soup, in which I immediately fell in love: very creamy, very sharp, wonderfully garnished with pinned red beet and eggnails. Also tastefully a wonderful surprise and colourful an eye-catcher. It was served in a large deep plate with gray bread. For 3.90 euros quite cheap. The hammer, however, was the goulash soup for 4.90 euros, which came to the table in a pot with lid. Pretty ally and well seasoned and perfectly saturating. After that, a somewhat disoriented service azubi occurred, which spoiled us with a late meal from the kitchen, which was a bread basket with two cuts of gray bread and a well-filled crucible with deculent lard. Now we would have been really tired, but there was more.... I had ordered the baked camembert for 6.90 Euro as an appetizer without bread and butter. However, there were two pieces, with plenty of salad and pear and fried parsley. Nice and very saturating. We had to fit perfectly at the lush vasper plate for 9 euros with various sausages and cheeses and spice cucumbers and once again a bowl full of lard. All foods were deicy, but not excessively fat, very beautifully decorated and lovingly dressed. It was operated professionally and with tastes. However, after the soup there was a longer waiting period with idling, there seemed to be a lot to stock in the kitchen. Well, then you'll drink more... According to my companion, the beers here are very spicy and have a very own character. I personally helped a regional Willi from own production for 2.90 euros over the customs, but the disappointingly flat and taste-neutral. Since we couldn't eat everything, the rest were packed into a polystyrene form, by the way, complete with mustard and bread. When we left the place later in the evening, it was still rugged. Music groups and bands occur here and again, there are also brunch offers and Christmas celebrations and special promotions. But you should reserve seats for this. We will also do that during the next visit, because we were all happy here."
